Đinh Thế Nam (born 30 April 1965) is a Vietnamese football manager and former footballer who currently is the head director of the Hanoi FC youth academy. Early life He is a native of Haiphong, Vietnam. Career He mainly operated as a midfielder and has been described as "plays skillfully, intelligently and is considered a "passing machine" for the strikers above". He had been a regular member of the Vietnam national team between 1985 and 1995. In January 2022, he was named as the caretaker manager of the Vietnam U23 team. He helped the team win the 2022 AFF U-23 Championship. Personal life He has been nicknamed "Nam 'chợ'". Haiphong or Hai Phong (, ) is the third-largest city in Vietnam and is the principal port city of the Red River Delta. The municipality has an area of , consisting of 8 urban districts, 6 rural districts and 1 municipal city (sub-city). AFF U-23 Championship
The ASEAN U-23 Championship (formerly AFF U-23 Championship) is an international football competition contested by the national under-23 teams of the member nations of the ASEAN Football Federation (AFF). The inaugural edition was held in 2005. Background In 2005, the first edition was held in Bangkok, Thailand as the AFF U-23 Youth Championship. A second edition of the tournament was set to take place in Palembang, Indonesia between 16 and 26 July 2011 but was cancelled due to the main stadium of Gelora Sriwijaya Stadium, which was to be used for the tournament, still being under renovation. Vietnamese National Football Cup
Vietnamese National Football Cup (), commonly recognized and branded as the National Cup (), is a Vietnamese football competition. It is one of the most important club competitions in Vietnam. The Vietnamese Cup was first held in 1992. Cảng Sài Gòn was the first cup winner. Format Since 2004, entry is open to all teams that competed in the V.League 1 and the V.League 2. The two teams that reach the final were exempt from the preliminary rounds of the next year's competition. The cup winners would qualify to the Qualifying playoff round of AFC Champions League Two. V.League 1 teams are not allowed to use foreign players if they play against a V.League 2 team. 2022 AFF U-23 Championship
The 2022 AFF U-23 Championship was the 3rd edition of the AFF U-23 Championship, organised by ASEAN Football Federation (AFF). The tournament was held from 14 to 26 February in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. Indonesia were the defending champions, having won the 2019 edition. The tournament was held amidst the COVID-19 pandemic. Indonesia and Myanmar withdrew from the tournament after several of their players tested positive for COVID-19. Vietnam won the tournament for the first time after beating Thailand 1–0 in the final.
