Čukalovce
Čukalovce (, ) is a village and municipality in Snina District in the Prešov Region of north-eastern Slovakia. History In history, historical records the village was first mentioned in 1567. Before the establishment of independent Czechoslovakia in 1918, Čukalovce was part of Zemplén County within the Kingdom of Hungary. From 1939 to 1944, it was part of the Slovak Republic (1939–1945), Slovak Republic. On 25 November 1944, the Red Army dislodged the Wehrmacht from Čukalovce and it was once again part of Czechoslovakia. Geography The municipality A municipality is usually a single administrative division having municipal corporation, corporate status and powers of self-government or jurisdiction as granted by national and regional laws to which it is subordinate. Snina District (''okres Snina'') is a district in the Prešov Region of eastern Slovakia. Until 1918, the district was part of the county of Kingdom of Hungary of Zemplín. It's the easternmost district in Slovakia, and includes the easternmost point of the whole country, Kremenec.
