Čiekurkalns () is a neighbourhood of the Northern District of Riga, the capital of Latvia. It is located on the southwestern shore of Lake Ķīšezers. In April 2014, the new building of the State Revenue Service of Latvia was unveiled at Talejas iela 1 in Čiekurkalns. Riga–Lugaži Railway
The Riga–Lugaži Railway is a long, gauge railway in Latvia. It was built in the late 19th century (commencing in 1886) to connect the cities of Riga and Saint Petersburg via Valga and Pskov. The railway was opened in 1889. The final station in Latvia is Lugaži (near Valka). The railway was last used for the Riga–Saint Petersburg service in 1998, after which St Petersburg trains operated via Rēzekne. For several years there were no cross-border services, and trains terminated at Lugaži, but since 2008 a regular passenger service again operates from Riga to Valga in Estonia twice a day, with an onward connection to Tallinn via a train in Estonia. ''The Baltic Course'' was a pan-Baltic business magazine. Its editor-in-chief was Olga Pavuk. History The magazine was founded in 1996 by Latvian journalist and initially was published only in Russian. Teika, Riga
Teika is a neighbourhood in the Vidzeme Suburb of Riga, the capital of Latvia. Teika is the only neighbourhood in Riga which was planned and partly built in the 1920s and 1930s during interwar Latvia. Built up areas consists mainly from 1- to 2-storey family houses, but there are also 5-storey apartment houses, especially around Brīvības street and Zemitāns Square. Teika was planned as a very modern district for those times and today is known for its Functionalist architecture which was widely practiced there.
