ČT Déčko
ČT Déčko (styled on-air as ČT :D) is a Czech free-to-air television channel operated by Czech Television, specialising in children's content designed for viewers of 2 to 12 years of age. The channel began broadcasting on 31 August 2013, with Petr Koliha as its first executive director. ČT Déčko broadcasts from 6 am to 8 pm, and shares its frequency with cultural channel ČT art, which uses the remaining hours. History The proposal to establish a channel dedicated to younger audiences was part of Petr Dvořák's candidacy for CEO of Česká televise. In September 2012, executive director Petr Koliha, former artistic director of the Zlín Film Festival, was appointed three months later. In high-definition television (HDTV) and video display technology, 1080i is a video display format with 1080 lines of vertical resolution and Interlaced video, interlaced scanning method. This format was once a standard in HDTV. It was particularly used for broadcast television because it can deliver high-resolution images without needing excessive bandwidth. Zlín Film Festival
Zlín Film Festival, also known as the International Film Festival for Children and Youth () is an annual festival of children's film in Zlín in the Czech Republic, founded in 1961 in the former Czechoslovakia. History The first festival took place in 1961, 20 years after a previous film festival had been held in Zlín, named Film Harvest () or Zliennale. The main program was held in Zlín's Grand Cinema, the largest cinema in Central Europe at that time. The capacity of the building, completed in 1932, was over 2,500. ''Deník'' is a regional daily newspaper in the Czech Republic. History Originally owned by German publishing company Verlagsgruppe Passau (VGP), ''Deník'' has been owned by Penta Investments since 2015. VGP has a monopoly on the Czech regional press. Astra 3B is one of the Astra communications satellites owned and operated by SES, launched in 2010 to the Astra 23.5°E orbital position providing digital television and radio for direct-to-home (DTH), and the AstraConnect two-way satellite broadband services across Europe and Asia.
