Ümit Ünal
Ümit Ünal (born 14 April 1965 in Tire, İzmir) is a Turkish film director, screenwriter and author. He is the scriptwriter for eight Turkish feature films including ''Teyzem (My Aunt)'' (1986), ''Hayallerim, Askim ve Sen (My Dreams, My Love and You)'' (1987). His first feature film as a director is '' 9'' which won many awards in various film festivals and was the Official Turkish Entry for the 2003 Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film. He wrote and directed ten feature films including Istanbul Tales (Anlat İstanbul), Ara, Gölgesizler (Shadowless), Ses (The Voice), Nar (The Pomegranate), Serial Cook (Sofra Sırları), Love, Spells and All That (Aşk, Büyü vs) and Playroom (Evcilik). He has published five books. As an artist/illustrator his credits include two personal exhibitions and four illustrated books. Halit RefiÄŸ (5 March 1934 – 11 October 2009) was a Turkish film director, film producer, screenwriter and writer. He made around sixty films, including feature films, documentaries and TV serials. He is considered to be the pioneer of the National Cinema movement and the initiator of the production of TV serials in Turkey. Biography Halit RefiÄŸ graduated from ÅžiÅŸli Terakki High School in 1951 and studied engineering at Robert College in Istanbul. RefiÄŸ directed his first films in 8mm while he served as a military reserve officer in Korea, Japan and Ceylon. He wrote articles on cinema at newspapers in 1956 and published the ''Sinema Dergisi'' magazine together with Nijat Özön. Şerif Gören
Şerif Gören (, 1 July 1944 – 8 December 2024) was a Turkish film director. Aside from important films under his own signature, he was also the winner of the Palme d'Or ("Golden Palm") award in Cannes Film Festival in 1982 for the film '' Yol'', which he had directed on behalf of Yılmaz Güney, who at the time was serving a prison sentence for the murder of Yumurtalık judge Sefa Mutlu. Gören started his film career as an editor, and then continued as an assistant director to Yılmaz Güney. He and Güney started directing ''Endişe'' (''The Anxiety'') in 1974, in the beginning of which Güney was arrested and sent to prison. Sinan Çetin
Sinan Çetin (born 1 March 1953) is a Turkish film director, actor, and producer. He won the best director award at the 12th Dhaka International Film Festival. Çetin was born as one of the eight children of a customs officer. He is of maternal Azeri and paternal Georgian descent. He studied art history at Hacettepe University. Çetin has produced full-length films and television series, and foremost, commercials. He is best known in the English-speaking world for his 1999 film ''Propaganda'', a critically acclaimed libertarian comedy about post-World War II eastern Turkey. Tunç Başaran (October 1, 1938 – December 18, 2019) was a Turkish people, Turkish screenwriter, film director, film producer and actor. Biography After attending the Faculty of Literature for a while he left school and started working as a script writer for the director Memduh Ün. Atıf Yılmaz Batıbeki (9 December 1925 – 5 May 2006) was a renowned Turkish film director, screenwriter, and film producer.
