Sturmgeist
Sturmgeist is an experimental black/thrash metal band formed by Cornelius Jakhelln in 2002. Biography Beginnings In 2002, Cornelius Jakhelln began working on a new band. The name chosen was Sturmgeist (Stormspirit in German). The music was an experimental mix of black/thrash metal with lyrics sung in English, Norwegian, and German about Germanic folklore, war, and recitations of Goethe poetry. On 24 January 2005 Sturmgeist released their first full-length, entitled Meister Mephisto on the record label, Season Of Mist. Tour In support of the album, Cornelius acquired the help of various musicians including Asgeir Mickelson of Borknagar and Spiral Architect fame, for a small European tour. The band played six shows in France, Belgium, England and Scotland, supporting the black metal band, Carpathian Forest. Season of Mist is an independent record label and record distributor with subsidiaries in France and the United States. The record label was founded in 1996 by Michael S. Berberian in Marseille, France. From the start releasing black metal, pagan metal, and death metal records, the label moved on to releasing albums of avant-garde metal, gothic metal and punk bands as well. The label has two offices, one in Marseille, France and one in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Arne Cornelius Arvidsson Jakhelln (born 31 August 1977 in Kristiansand), né Brastad, also known under the nom de plume Cornelius von Jackhelln, is a Norwegian vocalist, guitarist, musician, writer and poet. Biography Musician Born as Cornelius Brastad in Oslo to parents Arvid Brastad, an accountant, and Harriet Qvenild, a social worker, he changed his last to Jakhelln as an adult. He is currently residing in Berlin. He was 18 years old when he and Lars "Lazare" Nedland formed the avant-garde metal band, Solefald. ''Meister Mephisto'' is the first full-length album by Norwegian experimental black/ thrash band Sturmgeist, the, then solo, project of Cornelius Jakhelln. It was released on 24 January 2005. It is the 94th release by French record label, Season Of Mist. A live drummer was originally planned to be involved with the recording, but Jakhelln wound up programming the drums instead, making Meister Mephisto the first time Jakhelln released an album that was an individual effort after being a professional musician since 1995. In an interview for Nocturnal Horde, Jakhelln stated that the music on the album was influenced by living for a month in Weimar, Germany. Solefald
Solefald is a Norwegian avant-garde metal/black metal band that was formed by members Lars Are "Lazare" Nedland and Cornelius Jakhelln in August 1995, with Nedland singing and playing keyboard/synthesizer/piano and drums, and Jakhelln singing and playing guitar and bass. The duo experiment with a wide array of musical styles, frequently work on other projects, and rarely perform live under the Solefald name, leading them to describe themselves as "two stubborn goats pretending to be a band." Roger Rasmussen (born 12 October 1974), better known by the stage name Nattefrost, is a Norwegian musician, best known for being the vocalist and a founding member of black metal band Carpathian Forest. He also fronts the side projects World Destroyer and Kreft, and since 2003, his own solo project. Biography Rasmussen was born in Sandnes, Rogaland County, Norway. His first musical ventures were with the black metal band The Childmolesters, which he founded in 1990 alongside his future Carpathian Forest bandmate Johnny "Nordavind" Krøvel.
