Østre Bolæren (English language, English: Eastern Bolærne), also known as Østre Bolærne is the easternmost of the three largest islands in the archipelago Bolærne outside Nøtterøy in Færder municipality, Vestfold County, Norway. The island has an area of about 0.59 km2. The highest point on Østre Bolæren is above sea level. Overview 90% of the island is owned by a coalition of the Vestfold County municipality, and 10% is owned by the municipality of Færder. It has a veritable coastal pine forest and formed its own nature reserve until it became part of the newly established Færder National Park in 2013. Vestfold county municipality bought the island in 2004, and has built the island military advocacy into an activity center with lodging facilities, restaurant and kiosk. The facility is run by Vestfold County Municipality. The island has the capacity to accommodate 236 people, meeting rooms, a guest harbor for 75 boats, and has the hire of canoes, kayaks and ro ...

Bolærne
Bolærne is an archipelago in Færder Municipality in Vestfold county, Norway. Bolærne is located in the Oslofjord about east of the large island of Nøtterøy. Today, there are no longer any permanent residents of the islands. The archipelago is located inside Færder National Park, which was established in 2013. It is made up of three main islands plus about 40 smaller islets and skerries. Together, the islands include about of land. The largest island, Mellom Bolæren, covers . The easternmost island is Østre Bolæren, which measures . The islands are hilly and forested. The islands have been inhabited by fishermen from the 16th century. The islands were taken over by the Norwegian military in 1916 and a coastal fortress existed on the island from 1916 to 2002 when it was closed. Nøtterøy
Nøtterøy is a List of former municipalities of Norway, former municipality in Vestfold county, Norway. The island municipality existed from 1838 until its dissolution on 1 January 2018. The area is now part of Færder Municipality. The administrative centre was the village of Borgheim. Other villages in Nøtterøy included Årøysund, Buerstad, Duken, Føynland, Glomstein, Hårkollen, Kjøpmannskjær, Nesbrygga, Oterbekk, Skallestad, Skjerve, Strengsdal, Tenvik, Torød, Vestskogen, and Vollen, Vestfold, Vollen.
