Ølgod Railway Station
Ølgod station is a railway station serving the railway town of Ølgod in West Jutland, Denmark. Ølgod station is located on the Esbjerg–Struer railway line from Esbjerg to Struer. The station opened in 1875. It offers regional rail services to Aarhus, Esbjerg, Herning and Skjern, operated by the railway company GoCollective. History The station opened on 8 August 1875 as the section from Varde to Ringkøbing of the new Esbjerg–Struer railway line opened. Architecture Like the other stations on the Esbjerg–Struer railway line, the still existing station building from 1875 was built to designs by the Danish architect Niels Peder Christian Holsøe (1826–1895), known for the numerous railway stations he designed across Denmark in his capacity of head architect of the Danish State Railways. Varde Municipality () is a '' kommune'' in the Region of Southern Denmark on the west coast of the Jutland peninsula in southwest Denmark. Mette Magrete Tvistman
Mette Magrete Tvistman (1741, Frørup – 9 February 1827, , Herning) was a Danish artist ( clockmaker). She is known in Danish history as the first female clockmaker in her country. Biography Mette Magrete Tvistman was the daughter of the blacksmith and clockmaker Christen Jensen (1703–1781) and Maren Nielsdatter (1700–1791). She married the clockmaker Johan Ahlert Tvistman (1721–1769) in 1760, and had two children. In 1771, she married the farmer Christen Jensen, and had a daughter, but quickly divorced him. She was engaged to a son of the influential cleric Ude Haahr of Holstebro in 1788, but broke the engagement, which was regarded a scandal. After the death of her first spouse, she became active as a clockmaker with a workshop in the farm she inherited from her spouse. In 1783, she left her workshop to her son. Blaabjerg
Until January 1, 2007, Blaabjerg (Danish: BlÃ¥bjerg - literally blue mountain) was a municipality ( Danish, '' kommune'') in Ribe County on the west coast of the Jutland peninsula in southwest Denmark. The municipality covered an area of 254 km2, and had a total population of 6,509 (2005). Its latest mayor was Preben Olesen. The site of its municipal council was the town of Nørre Nebel. The municipality was created in 1970 due to a ("Municipality Reform") that combined the following parishes: Henne, Kvong, Lunde, Lydum, Lønne, Nørre Nebel, and Ovtrup Parish. Blaabjerg municipality ceased to exist due to ''Kommunalreformen'' ("The Municipality Reform" of 2007). Jacob Stilling-Andersen (24 June 1858 - 18 February 1933) was a Danish dairy manager and businessman. Blåvandshuk
Blåvandshuk is a headland on the North Sea coast of Jutland northwest of Esbjerg, and is the westernmost point of metropolitan Denmark. The Blåvand Lighthouse is the westernmost located building in Denmark. Natural Environment A significant portion of Blåvandshuk is marsh land, moor, dunes, and beaches. Because Blåvandshuk is on the coast and has a peninsula (''Skallingen'') which stretches to the southeast, it is surrounded by much water. To the northwest is the North Sea.
