Österreichische Galerie Belvedere
The Österreichische Galerie Belvedere is a museum housed in the Belvedere (palace), Belvedere palace, in Vienna, Austria. The Belvedere palaces were the summer residence of Prince Eugene of Savoy (1663–1736). The ensemble was built in the early eighteenth century by the famous Baroque architect Johann Lucas von Hildebrandt, and comprises the Upper and Lower Belvedere, with the Orangery and Palace Stables, as well as extensive gardens. The Belvedere houses what was the first public museum in Austria, today containing one of the greatest collections of Austrian art dating from the Middle Ages to the present day, complemented by the works of international artists. At the Upper Belvedere, visitors not only encounter artworks drawn from over five hundred years of art history but can also experience the magnificent staterooms. Michael Pacher
Michael Pacher ( 1435 – 1498) was a painter and sculptor from Tyrol active during the second half of the fifteenth century. He was one of the earliest artists to introduce the principles of Renaissance painting into Germany. Pacher was a comprehensive artist with a broad range of sculpting, painting, and architecture skills producing works of complex wood and stone. He painted structures for altarpieces on a scale unparalleled in North European art. Pacher's masterpiece, the ''St. Wolfgang Altarpiece'' (1471–1481), is considered one of the most remarkable carved and painted altar shrines in all of European art. The Museum der Moderne Salzburg has two buildings at two different locations in Salzburg, Austria. The Rupertinum in the old town for new artistic concepts opened in 1983 and the Museum on the Mönchsberg for modern art in a contemporary setting opened in 2004. Giacomo Del Pò
Giacomo del Pò (1654 – 15 November 1726), also spelled ''del Po'', was an Italian painter of the Baroque. He was born in Palermo (other sources say Rome or Naples), the son of Pietro del Pò who was also his teacher. He was admitted to the Roman Accademia di San Luca. He was chiefly occupied in decorating the mansions of the Neapolitan nobility with emblematical and allegorical subjects. Rome possesses only two of his pictures, one in the church of Sant'Angelo in Pescheria, and the other in Santa Marta al Collegio Romano. He also worked in Naples, where he painted frescoes for the Palatine chapel in the Royal Palace. Carlo Carlone
Carlo Innocenzo Carlone or Carloni (1686–1775) was an Italian painter and engraver, active especially in Germany. Biography He was a native of Alta Valle Intelvi, Scaria, near Como, in Lombardy, but may have been from the Carloni family of Genoa, Genoese painters. He was the son of a sculptor, but he preferred painting, and was placed under the care of Giulio Quaglio the Younger, Giulio Quaglio. He subsequently trained also with Giovanni Battista Colomba. He afterwards studied at Venice and at Rome, with Francesco Trevisani until he was 23 years of age, when he visited Germany, where he has left works in oil and in fresco at Ludwigsburg, Passau, Linz, Breslau, Prague, and Vienna.
