Ömeranlı (formerly ''Tavşançalı'') is a neighbourhood of the municipality and district of Kulu, Konya Province, Turkey. Its population is 4,582 (2022). Before the 2013 reorganisation, it was a town (''belde''). Population The town is populated by ethnic Kurds of the Reşwan tribe. Many people left the village in the 1990s for Scandinavian countries. Fahrettin Koca
Fahrettin Koca (born 2 January 1965) is a Turkish physician and politician. He was the minister of health of the 67th government of Turkey. Early life and education Fahrettin Koca was born on 2 January 1965 into a Kurdish family in the village Ömeranlı, Kulu District, Konya Province. Koca is from the tribe of Bekiran. He completed his primary and secondary education in Konya and high school in Bursa. After graduating from Istanbul University Medical School in 1988, he received the title of medical doctor. He completed his specialization in the Department of Child Health and Diseases at the Istanbul University-Cerrahpaşa Medical School. Career Koca became a pediatrician in 1995. He worked as a doctor and medical director in various health institutions. He was the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Istanbul Medipol University, which was founded in 2009 by the Education Health and Research Foundation (TESA), of which he was the founding president. Kulu is a municipality and district of Konya Province, Turkey. Its area is 2,234 km2, and its population is 51,612 (2022). Belde
Belde (literally "town", also known as ''kasaba'') means "large village with a municipality" in Turkish language, Turkish. All Turkish province centers and district centers have municipalities, but the Villages of Turkey, villages are usually too small to have municipalities. The population in some villages may exceed 2000 and in such villages a small municipality may be established depending on residents' choice. Such villages are called ''belde''. Up to 2014 the number of ''belde'' municipalities was about 1400. On 30 March 2014 by the act no. 6360 all villages (those with and without municipality) were included in the urban fabric of the district municipalities in 30 provinces. Thus ''belde'' municipalities in 30 provinces were abolished. The number of abolished ''belde'' municipalities is 1040. ReÅŸwan (tribe)
Reşwan, (; ) also known as Reşiyan, is a Kurdish tribe, native to the western frontier of Kurdistan, mostly populating Adıyaman, Gaziantep, Kahramanmaraş and Malatya provinces in Turkey and also present in Konya and Ankara provinces, Raqqa in Syria, and they live in Gilan, Khorasan province Qazvin Province citisies in Iran. Members of the tribe mostly adhere to the Hanafi school of Islam but some are Alevi. Etymology Nuh Ateş, a scholar and editor of Bîrnebûn, suggests that the name Reşwan is a compound of the Kurdish words () and the plural form ''-ân''. Stefan Winter argues Reşwan can be understood as "The Blacks" in Kurdish.
