Tarkan (singer)
Tarkan Tevetoğlu (; born 17 October 1972) is a German-born Turkish singer-songwriter. Since the early 1990s, with his successful albums, he has been a prominent figure of pop music, recognized both in Turkey and worldwide. Tarkan was born and raised in Alzey, Rhineland-Palatinate, in the-then West Germany. In 1986, he moved to Turkey together with his family. Tarkan, who had been interested in music since his childhood, went to high school at Karamürsel and took music lessons. In the following years, he met the owner of İstanbul Plak, Mehmet Söğütoğlu, and signed a contract to release his albums. Tarkan released his first studio album, ''Yine Sensiz'', in late 1992, with "Kıl Oldum" being chosen as its lead single. His second one, ''Aacayipsin'', was released in 1994, while his third, ''Ölürüm Sana'', in 1998: the latter included the song "Şımarık" ("spoilt" in Turkish), that became popular in a number of countries, also for its English version, "Kiss Kiss". Ozan Çolakoğlu (, born 1 April 1972) is a Turkish composer, songwriter and music producer; famous for his work with various Turkish pop singers and his multiple film scores. He co-founded the production company ''Sarı Ev'' (Yellow House), but left it in 2010 to work for ''dB Müzik''. Life and career Ozan Çolakoğlu was born in Adana, Turkey in 1972. He attended the Berklee College of Music and his career started with Tarkan's first album called '' Yine Sensiz''. Besides working continuously with the Turkish pop idol, he also contributed to the albums of such notable artists like Nil Karaibrahimgil, Murat Boz or the well known all-female Turkish rock band, Pin-up. "Şımarık" (, "Spoiled"), also known as "Kiss Kiss", is a 1997 song by Turkish singer Tarkan. It was written by Sezen Aksu, with music credited as composed by Tarkan. However, Tarkan later admitted in a 2006 interview that this had been done without Aksu's consent, who was the true copyright owner. It formed part of Tarkan's third album, '' Ölürüm Sana'' (1997). "Şımarık" was released in France in 1998 and across the rest of the world in 1999 from the compilation album ''Tarkan'', which was released in Europe. Many versions of the song were recorded in different languages, most notably the English-language cover, titled "Kiss Kiss", by Greek-American singer Stella Soleil in 2001, which was itself covered by Australian actress Holly Valance in 2002.
