Unrestricted Free Agent
In professional sports, a free agent is a player or manager who is eligible to sign with other clubs or franchises; i.e., not under contract to any specific team. The term is also used in reference to a player who is under a contract at present but who is allowed to solicit offers from other teams. In some circumstances, the free agent's options are limited by the league's rules. Free agency was severely restricted in many sports leagues, instead clubs had a reserve clause which allowed them to retain players indefinitely. Usage Association football In professional association football, a free agent is either a player that has been released by a professional association football club and now is no longer affiliated with any league, or a player whose contract with their current club has expired and is thus free to join any other club under the terms of the Bosman ruling. Free agents do not have to be signed during the normal transfer window that is implemented in some c ...

Ufa (moth)
''Ufa'' is a moth genus in the subfamily Phycitinae of the family Pyralidae. The genus is distributed in the Americas. While sharing certain morphological characters in the female genitalia with '' Adelphia'', ''Ufa'' appears closest related to '' Elasmopalpus''. The genus currently comprises three species: the type species, ''Ufa venezuelalis'', described by Francis Walker in 1863, is now considered a junior synonym of the older name ''Ufa rubedinella'' (Zeller, 1848). The genus furthermore comprises ''Ufa lithosella'' ( Ragonot, 1887) and ''Ufa senta'' Heinrich, 1956. The caterpillars of ''U. rubedinella'' feed on the leaves of lima beans and black-eyed peas in the Fabaceae Fabaceae () or Leguminosae,International Code of Nomen ...

Fatty Acid
In chemistry, in particular in biochemistry, a fatty acid is a carboxylic acid with an aliphatic chain, which is either saturated and unsaturated compounds#Organic chemistry, saturated or unsaturated. Most naturally occurring fatty acids have an Branched chain fatty acids, unbranched chain of an even number of carbon atoms, from 4 to 28. Fatty acids are a major component of the lipids (up to 70% by weight) in some species such as microalgae but in some other organisms are not found in their standalone form, but instead exist as three main classes of esters: triglycerides, phospholipids, and cholesteryl esters. In any of these forms, fatty acids are both important diet (nutrition), dietary sources of fuel for animals and important structural components for cell (biology), cells. History The concept of fatty acid (''acide gras'') was introduced in 1813 by Michel Eugène Chevreul, though he initially used some variant terms: ''graisse acide'' and ''acide huileux'' ("acid fat" and "oi ...

Unambiguous Finite Automaton
In automata theory, an unambiguous finite automaton (UFA) is a nondeterministic finite automaton (NFA) such that each word has at most one accepting path. Each deterministic finite automaton (DFA) is an UFA, but not vice versa. DFA, UFA, and NFA recognize exactly the same class of formal languages. On the one hand, an NFA can be exponentially smaller than an equivalent DFA. On the other hand, some problems are easily solved on DFAs and not on UFAs. For example, given an automaton ''A'', an automaton ''A'' which accepts the complement of ''A'' can be computed in linear time when ''A'' is a DFA, whereas it is known that this cannot be done in polynomial time for UFAs. Hence UFAs are a mix of the worlds of DFA and of NFA; in some cases, they lead to smaller automata than DFA and quicker algorithms than NFA. Formal definition An '' NFA'' is represented formally by a 5-tuple, A=(Q,\Sigma,\Delta,q_0,F). An ''UFA'' is an NFA such that, for each word w=a_1a_2...a_n, there exists at most o ...

Franco-German University
The Franco-German University (FGU, , ) is an international organisation of universities from Germany and France with the purpose of facilitating international cooperation in higher education. The FGU is not a university in its own right, but rather enables students to study at multiple universities in both countries in a Franco-German course of study, leading to a double degree. History and organisation In a first attempt at higher education cooperation, a ''Franco-German College for Higher Education'' (, ) had existed since 1988. That organisation had similar goals, working to promote international academic cooperation and student exchanges. At the September 1997 Franco-German Summit in Weimar, the French and German governments concluded the Weimar Agreement, deciding to establish the Franco-German University with the intention of international cooperation. The agreement came into effect two years later when the Franco-German University was formally founded. The organisat ...

Since 2002 UFA has shared a building with Western Technical-Commercial School and The Student School, in the High Park neighbourhood. History A think tank created the concept of the school. UFA was owned by the Toronto Board of Education until its merger into the Toronto District School Board. Ursula Franklin Academy opened in the fall of 1995 in the former Brockton High School, which originally was built and named in 1966. The Toronto Board of Education (TBE) planned it as a traditional academic school that had focus on languages, mathematics, science, and technology. John Doherty, a trustee in the TBE, said that "We're not trying to create a magnet school or an elite school that has waiting lists and so on. We want it serving the ...
