ÃŽleSoniq Music Festival
The ÎleSoniq Music Festival () is the largest music festival in Canada for its genre, a 2-day major electronic music, electronic dance music festival in Montreal, Quebec, that is held every summer at Parc Jean-Drapeau on Île Sainte-Hélène. The festival takes place on multiple stages with various audience capacities. The 2024 edition occurred from August 10–11, 2024. Growing from 105,000 attendees in its first year in 2014, ÎleSoniq's sixth edition (2019) marked a record of 270,000 over three days, a jump from 2018's 225,000 fans. The 2023 edition had an encouraging results : 65,000 people passed through the gates over two days, roughly half on Saturday and the other half on Sunday. This was the best edition of ÎleSoniq in terms of the number of tickets sold. Parc Jean-Drapeau
Jean Drapeau Park (formerly called ''Parc des Îles'') is the third-largest park in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. It comprises two islands, Saint Helen's Island and the artificial island Notre Dame Island, situated off the shore of Old Montreal in the Saint Lawrence River. The islands were the site of the Expo 67 World's Fair. Notre Dame Island was constructed for the exposition, and Saint Helen's Island artificially extended at its north and south ends. The park was renamed in honour of Jean Drapeau, the late mayor of Montreal and initiator of Expo 67. History Saint Helen's Island was discovered by French explorer Samuel de Champlain in 1611, who named it in honour of his wife, Hélène de Champlain, née Boullé. Piknic Électronik
Piknic Électronik is a weekly electronic music festival which takes place every Sunday during the summer in Montreal, Quebec. Established in 2003, the festival takes place at Parc Jean-Drapeau, only ten minutes outside of Downtown Montreal, and features local and international DJs and producers. The festival concentrates on house and minimal techno genres, but has recently shifted to an EDM style of programmation. The event runs from 2pm - 9:30pm. In 2013, Piknic Électronik expanded to Barcelona, with other local editions of the festival beginning in Melbourne and Dubai in 2014, in Santiago in 2015, and in Paris in 2019. An annual, one-weekend-only edition of Piknic Électronik is also held in Austin, Texas, as of 2018. In 2017, 112,000 individuals attended the original Montreal edition of the festival. The Osheaga Music and Arts Festival () is a multi-day music festival in Montreal, Quebec, that is held every summer at Parc Jean-Drapeau on Île Sainte-Hélène. The festival takes place on six stages with various audience capacities.
