ÃŽle-Bigras Station
Île-Bigras is a future Réseau express métropolitain (REM) station, expected to open in October 2025. It is located in Laval, Quebec, Canada. Until May 2020, the station was a commuter rail station operated by Exo on the Deux-Montagnes line. Connecting bus routes STL (taxibus T26 only), which goes across the bridge to connect with the nearby bus routes on chemin du Bord-de-l'Eau (26, 76, 402, 404 and 903) if they wish to travel within Laval. Laval, Quebec
Laval is a city in Quebec, Canada. It is in the southwest of the province, north of Montreal. It is the largest suburb of Montreal, the third-largest city in the province after Montreal and Quebec City, and the thirteenth largest city in Canada, with a population of 443,192 in 2021. Laval is geographically separated from the mainland to the north by the Rivière des Mille Îles, and from the Island of Montreal to the south by the Rivière des Prairies. Laval occupies all of Île Jésus as well as the Îles Laval. Réseau Express Métropolitain
The Réseau express métropolitain (REM; ) is a Medium-capacity rail system, light metro rapid transit system in Greater Montreal, Quebec, Canada. As of June 2025, it consists of five stations spanning 16 km, connecting Downtown Montreal with the suburb of Brossard. Extensions to the West Island and the northwestern suburbs of Montreal, Montreal suburbs will open in October 2025 and a further extension to the Montréal–Trudeau International Airport will open in 2027. Exo, stylized as exo and officially known as the (, RTM; ), is a public transport, public transport system in Greater Montreal, including the Island of Montreal, Laval, Quebec, Laval (Île Jésus), and communities along both the North Shore (Laval), North Shore of the Rivière des Mille-Îles, Mille-Îles River and the South Shore (Montreal), South Shore of the St. Lawrence River. Deux-Montagnes Line
Deux-Montagnes (also designated exo6 and formerly Red Line) was an electrified Commuter rail in North America, commuter rail line in Greater Montreal, Quebec, Canada. It was owned by Exo (public transit), Exo, the organization that operates public transport services throughout the Montreal area. The line was created in 1918 as a Canadian Northern Railway (CNoR) service. Canadian National Railway (CN) ran the line starting in 1923 following the merger of CNoR into CN. CN transferred the Deux-Montagnes Line to the Société de transport de Montréal, Société de transport de la communauté urbaine de Montréal (STCUM) on July 1, 1982. Société de transport de Laval (, STL) is the public transit system in the city of Laval, Quebec, Canada. History The STL was founded in June 1971 as the ''Commission de transport de la Ville de Laval (CTL)''. It later changed its name in 1985 to the ''Société de transport de la Ville de Laval'', until changing to its current name in 2001. In 2009 and 2010, a proposal to convert some of STL's most heavily used routes to trolleybus, electric trolleybuses was studied in detail, funded jointly by STL and Hydro-Québec, but in the fourth quarter of 2010, STL decided to postpone making a decision on trolleybuses until at least 2011, to allow further study of rechargeable electric buses first. ÃŽle Bigras
Île Bigras is the largest of the four islands that make up the Îles-Laval archipelago in the Rivière des Prairies in Quebec. They all are part of the city of Laval since 1965. The Île Bigras was named in 1817 as ''Île Amesse'', after the name of its owner, Louis Amesse (other more recent maps have also shown the names ''Île Boiret'' and ''Île Boisvert''). The island was bought in 1890 by Émilien Bigras, who gave it his name. He was also the owner of the three other islands of the archipelago: Île Pariseau, Île Verte and Île Ronde. Thanks to the Deux-Montagnes commuter train line and its station, the island is less than 30 minutes from Downtown Montreal and Central Station. It is also less than a quarter-hour from the seasonal reaction ferry that connects Île Bizard with Laval-sur-le-Lac. A park and ride at the station can accommodate several cars.
