Íþróttarhúsið á Torfnesi (, ), known colloquially as Jakinn or Ísjakinn (English: The Iceberg), is a multi-purpose indoor arena in Ísafjörður, Iceland. It is the homecourt to Íþróttafélagið Vestri (basketball and volleyball) and Knattspyrnufélagið Hörður (handball) but also hosts several other events every year. History Groundbreaking took place in the spring of 1988 and the arena officially opened on 18 September 1993. The Icelandic Basketball Association (''Icelandic:Körfuknattleikssamband Íslands - KKÍ'') is the national governing body of basketball in Iceland and is a member of the continental association FIBA Europe and the global International Basketball Federation (FIBA). The Norway men's national basketball team () represents Norway in international basketball tournaments. The national team is administered by the Norwegian Basketball Federation. Norway has never had great success on the international stage in the past. They are one of the few European countries to date to have never qualified for one of the top international basketball competitions, such as the EuroBasket or the FIBA World Cup. Iceland Men's National Basketball Team
The Iceland men's national basketball team () represents Iceland in international basketball tournaments. The team is controlled by the Icelandic Basketball Association. Iceland has qualified for the EuroBasket three times in their history, with the national team making their first appearance in 2015. They have also participated at smaller European tournaments, such as the Games of the Small States of Europe. Recent history EuroBasket 2015 On 28 August 2014, Iceland qualified for the EuroBasket 2015, entering the finals of the top European competition for the first time in its history. The national team though didn't fare too well in their maiden voyage at the EuroBasket. Finishing (0-5) in their Group B pool, played in Berlin with defeats at the hands of Germany, Italy, Serbia, Spain, and Turkey.
