Ísak Þorvaldsson
Ísak Snær Þorvaldsson (born 1 May 2001) is an Icelandic professional footballer who plays for Danish 1st Division club Lyngby, on loan from Rosenborg, as a left winger and forward. Club career Ísak started his career with local club Afturelding in Mosfellsbær before transferring to Norwich City in July 2017. He went on loan to Fleetwood Town at the end of January 2020. He joined Scottish side Livingston on trial in October 2021 with a view to a loan move, which did not materialize. On 20 July 2020, he signed for Scottish St. Mirren on a one-year loan. On 27 August 2020 his loan with St. Mirren was terminated early. Later that day he moved on loan to Icelandic club ÍA where he appeared in 7 matches. He was again loaned to ÍA for the 2021 season where he scored 3 goals in 20 Úrvalsdeild karla matches. He helped ÍA win its last three matches of the season and stave off relegation. Lyngby Boldklub () is a professional Football (soccer), football club based in Kongens Lyngby, Lyngby, Denmark, founded in 1921. It is based at Lyngby Stadion. The club play in the Danish Superliga. From 1994 to 2001 the club was known as Lyngby FC. The 2019–20 EFL Trophy, known as the Leasing.com Trophy for sponsorship reasons, was the 39th season in the history of the competition, a knock-out tournament for English football clubs in League One and League Two of the English football system, and also including 16 Premier League and Championship " Academy teams" with Category One status. Due to their financial crisis, Bury were expelled from the EFL and automatically eliminated from the competition as well. Portsmouth were the defending champions, and reached the final once again. They were beaten on penalties by Salford City after a 0–0 draw. Guðmundur Benediktsson nicknamed Gummi Ben (born 3 September 1974) is an Icelandic TV personality, sports commentator and former footballer and manager. Playing career At a young age, Guðmundur attracted the attention of major foreign clubs. At 15, he was approached by teams such as Arsenal, Everton, Tottenham and Stuttgart. Later, while still 15, he ruptured his anterior cruciate ligament. After the injury, he was offered the choice of going to Stuttgart or Germinal Ekeren, opting for the latter because he believed he would get more playing time. In 1997, he went on trial at Preston North End (which at the time was managed by David Moyes) and was offered a one-month contract which would be renewed on a monthly basis (due to Guðmundur's record of injury problems). The 2022 Besta deild karla was the 111th season of top-flight Icelandic football. Twelve teams contested the league, including the defending champions Víkingur Reykjavík, who won their sixth league title in 2021. The Besta deild karla () is a professional association football league in Iceland and the highest level of the Icelandic football league system. The competition was founded in 1912 as the Icelandic Championship. Because of the harsh winters in Iceland, it is generally played in the spring and summer (April to September). Knattspyrnufélagið Víkingur (, ) , commonly referred to as Víkingur Reykjavík (to distinguish them from Víkingur Ólafsvík) and internationally known as Vikingur F.C., is a professional Icelandic sports club based in the Fossvogur neighbourhood of Reykjavík.
