"Í hjarta mér" ("in my heart") is the second single from Egó's album 6. Október (album), 6. Október. The name of the band is sometimes stylized as EGÓ. The single released on February 19, 2009. The song became a big hit immediately and peaked at No. 1 on all charts in Iceland. The single was released as a Digital download only. Egó
Egó was a musical band founded in Reykjavík, Iceland), in the fall of 1981 by Bubbi Morthens with his younger brother and guitarist Bergþór Morthens and their friend, bassist Þorleifur Guðjónsson. Egó's first drummer was Jóhann Richards (aka "Motorhead"), and for a while guitarist Ragnar Sigurðsson played along with them. Jóhann and Ragnar were replaced by drummer Magnús Stefánsson and Tómas Magnús Tómasson. Bubbi Morthens, the frontman and main lyricist in the band had been part of influential punk/rock/reggie band Utangarðsmenn, but had been fired from the band for reportedly having a "big ego", which was also allegedly the reason for the band name "Egó". 260 px, Bubbi Morthens, Laugardalsvöllur, Iceland (2007) Bubbi Morthens (full name ''Ásbjörn Kristinsson Morthens''; born 6 June 1956) is an Icelandic singer and songwriter. Aside from a lengthy solo career, he has been a member of such Icelandic bands as Utangarðsmenn and Egó. Personal life Bubbi was born in Reykjavík to a Danish mother and a half-Norwegian, half-Icelandic father. Bubbi is a common nickname for Ásbjörn. He developed a strong addiction to cocaine and alcohol in his youth, and later in life he became an advocate for sobriety and addiction prevention. In 2018, he published the poetry book ''Rof'' about the sexual abuse he was a victim of as a child. In 1973 (at the age of 17), Bubbi became a migrant worker. "Kannski Varð Bylting Vorið 2009" is EGÓ's first song in 25 years. It was released on January 10, 2009. Bubbi first performed the song at a radio show Poppland at Rás 2 on January 5. On January 7, EGÓ recorded the song at Stúdíó Sýrland. EGÓ also recorded another song by Bubbi called "Fallega Þú" but later got the name "Í Hjarta Mér". All of their albums have been recorded at Hljóðriti in Hafnarfjörður Hafnarfjörður, officially Hafnarfjarðarkaupstaður, is a port town and municipality in Iceland, located about south of Reykjavík.
