Championnat Pro A
The Championnat Pro A, is the highest tier professional basketball league in Tunisia, established in 1956. As the 2024–25 season, the league features 10 teams. The league is organised by the Tunisia Basketball Federation (FTBB). ES Radès (basketball), ES Radès is the record holder for most titles, with a total of thirteen. The current champion is Club Africain (basketball), Club Africain, who won the title in the 2024–25 season. The champions of each season qualify directly for the regular season of the Basketball Africa League (BAL), the premier continental competition of Africa. Hamed Karoui
Hamed Karoui (; 30 December 1927 – 27 March 2020) was prime minister of Tunisia from 27 September 1989 to 17 November 1999. From 1986 to 1987 he was Minister of Youth and Sports and from 1988 to 1989 he was Minister of Justice. Born in Sousse, he was a member of the Constitutional Democratic Rally party, and the longest-serving president of Étoile Sportive du Sahel from 1961 to 1981. Biography He continued his primary and secondary studies in Sousse. At the age of 15, he joined Neo-Destour and campaigned in the ranks of the General Union of Tunisian Students (UGET) and the organization of Tunisian Scouts where, at the age of 17, he obtained the rank of district chief. He was also responsible for publishing the underground newspaper Al Kifah for the center of the country. FIBA Africa Clubs Champions Cup
The FIBA Africa Basketball League (formerly named the FIBA Africa Clubs Champions Cup) was the highest caliber men's professional basketball competition for clubs until 2020, organized by the FIBA Africa and played by the champions of the leagues of the African countries. The league was replaced by the Basketball Africa League (BAL) from 2020. History The competition was founded in 1971. A year later, in 1972, Hit Trésor SC won the inaugural championship. For the first 33 years in existence, it was a biennial league. From 2004, the ACC was held yearly. The Tunisian Basketball Federation Cup or FTBB Cup, is an annual basketball cup in Tunisian men's basketball. The tournament is organised by the Tunisia Basketball Federation (FTBB) It is contested by the teams that did not qualify for the play-off phase of the Championnat National A. Since 2018, the games are played during the FIBA national teams qualifiers which means most games are contested without team's internationals. The Tunisian Basketball Super Cup or Champions Trophy, is an annual basketball super cup in Tunisian men's basketball opposing the Championnat Pro A champion to the winner of the Tunisian Cup (or the vice-champion if the champion is also the winner of the Tunisian Cup).
