Étampes station (French language, French: ''Gare d'Étampes'') is a railway station in Étampes, Essonne, France. The station was opened in 1843 and is on the Paris–Bordeaux railway and Étampes–Beaune-la-Rolande railway. The station is served by Paris' express suburban rail system, the RER C, RER. The train services are operated by SNCF. Étampes () is a Communes of France, commune in the functional area (France), metropolitan area of Paris, France. It is located south-southwest from the Kilometre zero#France, center of Paris (as the crow flies). Étampes is a Subprefectures in France, sub-prefecture of the Essonne Departments of France, department. Étampes, together with the neighboring communes of Morigny-Champigny and Brières-les-Scellés, form an urban unit, urban area of 30,881 inhabitants (2018). This urban area is a "satellite city" of Paris. History Étampes () existed at the beginning of the 7th century and in the early Middle Ages belonged to the crown domain.
