Éric Meloche
Éric Meloche (born May 1, 1976) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey right winger who played in the National Hockey League (NHL) for the Pittsburgh Penguins and Philadelphia Flyers. He is the son of former player Gilles Meloche. Playing career Meloche began his career by playing junior hockey with the Cornwall Colts of the OCJHL. After playing there for two seasons, he was selected by the Pittsburgh Penguins in the seventh round, 186th overall, of the 1996 NHL Entry Draft. From there he played collegiate hockey with the Ohio State Buckeyes in the CCHA. After graduating in 2000, he played his first full season of professional hockey for the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins, the AHL affiliate of the Pittsburgh Penguins. Until 2004 he would split his seasons between the two teams, but the Penguins decided to let him become an unrestricted free agent once his contract ran out. Winger (ice Hockey)
Winger, in the game of ice hockey, is a forward position of a player whose primary zone of play is along the outer playing areas. They typically flank the centre forward. Originally the name was given to forward players who went up and down the sides of the rink. Wingers generally have the least defensive responsibilities out of any position on the ice, however they are still tasked with defensive duties such as forechecking duties or covering the point in the defensive zone. Nowadays, there are different types of wingers in the game — out-and-out goal scorers, checkers who disrupt the opponents, and forwards who work along the boards and in the corners. In professional sports, a free agent is a player or manager who is eligible to sign with other clubs or franchises; i.e., not under contract to any specific team. The term is also used in reference to a player who is under a contract at present but who is allowed to solicit offers from other teams. The 2004–05 AHL Season (sports), season was the List of AHL seasons, 69th season of the American Hockey League. Twenty-eight teams played 80 games each in the schedule. Václav Pletka (born June 8, 1979) is a Czech professional ice hockey player. He plays left wing for HC ÄŒeské BudÄ›jovice in the Czech Extraliga. He played in one National Hockey League (NHL) game with the Philadelphia Flyers. Playing career He was drafted in the seventh round, 208th overall, of the 1999 NHL Entry Draft by the Philadelphia Flyers. Pletka played two seasons in the Czech Extraliga for HC Oceláři TÅ™inec before coming to North America. In sports, a prospect, also known as a "minor leaguer" or "farmhand," is any player whose rights are owned by a professional team, but who has yet to surpass a threshold where they achieve rookie status (as defined by their respective league), or is not established with the team yet. The Norfolk Admirals were a professional ice hockey team based in Norfolk, Virginia, that competed in the American Hockey League (AHL). The team played its home games at Norfolk Scope. Matt Ellison
Matt Ellison (born December 8, 1983) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey right winger. Drafted in the 2002 NHL Entry Draft by Chicago Blackhawks of the National Hockey League (NHL), Ellison played for the Blackhawks minor teams with two stints in the NHL, before being traded in 2005 to the Philadelphia Flyers. After being traded to the Nashville Predators in 2007, Ellison played one season for the Predators AHL team before moving to play in Europe in 2008. Ellison most notably played abroad in the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL). Patrick Sharp
Patrick Sharp (born December 27, 1981) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey player who played 15 seasons in the National Hockey League (NHL) for the Philadelphia Flyers, Chicago Blackhawks, and Dallas Stars. After his retirement as a player, Sharp worked as an analyst for NBC Sports and as a color commentary for Blackhawks broadcasts on NBC Sports Chicago.
