Émile-Paul Frères was a French publishing house, whose origins date back to 1881. 'Frères' is French for 'Brothers'. The brand was created by two brothers, Albert and Robert Paul, the sons of the founder Émile Paul. It was active until 1955, before disappearing in 1982. ''Le Grand Meaulnes'' () is the only novel by French author Alain-Fournier, who was killed in the first month of World War I. The novel, published in 1913, a year before the author's death, is somewhat autobiographical, especially the name of the heroine Yvonne, for whom he had a doomed infatuation in Paris. Fifteen-year-old François Seurel narrates the story of his friendship with seventeen-year-old Augustin Meaulnes as the latter searches for his lost love. Jean-Yves Mollier (born 5 November 1947) is a French contemporary history teacher. Biography Mollier is teacher at the Versailles Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines University. He is specialized in the history of publishing. He has dedicated his doctoral thesis in French literature at ''Noël Parfait'' (1978) and his PhD in History (PhD in Humanities) to "political and cultural history at the heart of the French nineteenth-century" (1986).
