Éloi Meulenberg
Eloi Meulenberg (22 September 1912 – 26 February 1989) was a Belgium, Belgian professional road bicycle racer. He is best known for his gold medal in the Elite Race of the 1937 UCI Road World Championships, 1937 Road World Championships and his nine stage wins in the Tour de France. Jumet
Jumet () is a town of Wallonia and a district of the municipality of Charleroi, located in the province of Hainaut, Belgium. It was a municipality of its own before the merger of the municipalities in 1977. Church of Saint-Sulpice, Jumet is a Roman Catholic church in Jumet. Scheldeprijs
The Scheldeprijs is a road bicycle racing, cycling race in Flanders and the Netherlands which starts in Terneuzen, crosses the Scheldt River, and finishes in Schoten. Until 2018 it was held entirely in Belgium. The event, ranked as a UCI race classifications, 1.Pro race on the UCI ProSeries, features mostly sprinters on its roll of honour, as it is held on all-flat roads over roughly 200 kilometres. The Tour of Belgium (; ) is a five-day bicycle race which is held annually in Belgium, and is part of the UCI ProSeries. It was held annually between 1908 and 1981, except during both world wars. Between 1982 and 1990 several races were not organised and none at all from 1991 to 2001. From 2002 onwards the race has again become an annual fixture on the cycling calendar. Following the start of the UCI ProTour in 2005 it looked like the race would merge with the Eneco Tour; however this did not happen and it became part of the UCI Europe Tour competition. Road bicycle racing is the cycle sport discipline of road cycling, held primarily on paved roads. The 1937 UCI Road World Championships was the seventeenth edition of the UCI Road World Championships. The championships took place in Copenhagen, Denmark. The race for the professionals was the longest to date: 297.5 kilometers over a flat course of 8.5 kilometers, which the riders had to complete 35 times.
