Élisabeth Paradis
Élisabeth Paradis (born July 15, 1992) is a Canadian former competitive ice dancer. With François-Xavier Ouellette, she won bronze medals at the 2015 CS U.S. International Figure Skating Classic, 2015 CS U.S. International Classic and at the 2016 Canadian Figure Skating Championships, 2016 Canadian Nationals. Career Early career Paradis skated with Tristan Laliberté from the 2007–08 season through 2009–10. They won the 2009 Canadian novice silver medal and placed 14th on the junior level the following year. Partnership with François-Xavier Ouellette Paradis began competing with François-Xavier Ouellette in the 2010–11 figure skating season, 2010–11 season. 2016 World Figure Skating Championships
The 2016 ISU World Figure Skating Championships took place March 28 – April 3, 2016 in Boston, Massachusetts. Mitchell Islam
Mitchell Islam (born January 24, 1990) is a Canadian former competitive ice dancer. He teamed up with partner Alexandra Paul in 2009. They are the 2010 World Junior silver medalists, 2013 Nebelhorn Trophy bronze medalists, and three-time Canadian national bronze medalists (2011, 2014, 2015). They competed at the 2014 Winter Olympics. Career Early career From 2000 through 2008, Islam competed with Joanna Lenko. They trained at the Mariposa School of Skating, coached by Mitchell Islam's father, David. In the 2006–07 ISU Junior Grand Prix season, Lenko/Islam were 5th in the Netherlands and won a silver medal in Hungary. After taking silver on the junior level at the 2007 Canadian Championships, they were assigned to the 2007 World Junior Championships but withdrew after the original dance due to Lenko's illness. Alexandra Paul (figure Skater)
Alexandra Jane Paul (September 16, 1991 – August 22, 2023) was a Canadian competitive ice dancer. With her skating partner and eventual husband, Mitchell Islam, she won the silver medal at the 2010 World Junior Championships. In their senior career, Paul and Islam were the 2013 Nebelhorn Trophy bronze medalists, three-time Canadian national bronze medalists (2011, 2014–2015), and represented their country at the 2014 Winter Olympics. Career Alexandra Paul finished third with Jason Cheperdak in junior ice dancing at the 2009 Canadian Championships. She then began looking for a new partner and had a successful tryout in February 2009 with Mitchell Islam, a fellow skater at the Mariposa School of Skating in Barrie, Ontario. 2015–16 Figure Skating Season
The 2015–16 figure skating season began on July 1, 2015, and ended on June 30, 2016. During this season, elite skaters competed at the 2016 European Championships, Four Continents Championships, World Junior Championships, and World Championships. They also competed at elite events such as the Grand Prix series and Junior Grand Prix series, culminating at the Grand Prix Final, and the Challenger Series.
