"Ég á lÃf" (I'm alive) is the Icelandic entry in the Eurovision Song Contest 2013 in Malmö and is performed by singer Eyþór Ingi Gunnlaugsson after he won Iceland in the Eurovision Song Contest 2013, Söngvakeppnin 2013. In the final it placed 17th. The song is the first to be performed in Icelandic language, Icelandic since Eurovision Song Contest 1997, 1997. It is also the first Icelandic entry ever to not have an English version recorded. Eyþór Ingi Gunnlaugsson
Eyþór Ingi Gunnlaugsson (born 29 May 1989), transliterated/also known as Eythor Ingi, is an Icelandic singer, songwriter, producer, actor, and musician, known for the solo material bands Eldberg, Todmobile and Rock Paper Sisters. He Iceland in the Eurovision Song Contest 2013, represented Iceland in the Eurovision Song Contest 2013 in Malmö, Sweden with the song "Ég á lÃf". Life and career At age 15, he played in the Icelandic version of the musical ''Oliver!'', and in 2008 won the TV talent show ''Bandið hans Bubba''. He had previously won a song contest for high school students in 2007 where he sang the Deep Purple song "Perfect Strangers". His musical influences are Jeff Buckley, The Beatles, Led Zeppelin and David Bowie. He is the founder of the band Eldberg. Founded in 1930, it operates from studios in the country's capital, ReykjavÃk, as well as regional centres around the country. The Dutch Single Top 100 or Single Top 100 is a Dutch chart, based on official physical single sales, legal downloads and since July 2013 streaming and composed by Dutch Charts. Örlygur Smári (born ) is an Icelandic producer/composer. Biography Smári was born in Iceland, Europe. Smári wrote Iceland's Eurovision Song Contest 2000 entry Tell Me!. He also wrote the song This Is My Life, which was the Icelandic entry for the Eurovision Song Contest 2008. In 2010, Smári teamed up with Hera Björk to write the song Je ne sais quoi, which represented Iceland in the Eurovision Song Contest 2010. The song performed in the first semifinal on 25 May 2010 and came in third with 123 points. In the Grand Final four days later, however, the song came in 19th place having received 41 points.
