Jean-Christophe Bailly
Jean-Christophe Bailly (; 3 May 1949) is a French writer, poet and playwright. Biography Bailly was born in Paris. Very early on, he decided to devote himself to writing. His book ''Tuiles detachées'' explains this decision, as well as several important steps for the formation of his style. Close to surrealism when he entered literature, he moved away from it. His thought constitutes the modern continuity of certain ideas of German romanticism: the idea of a sense without borders and moving forms, in the spirit of what Novalis calls the "Encyclopedia". Clément Chéroux
Clément Chéroux (born 1970) is a French photography historian and curator. He is Chief Curator of Photography at the Museum of Modern Art in New York City. He has also held senior curatorial positions at the Centre Pompidou in Paris and at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art. Chéroux has overseen many exhibitions and books on photographers and photography. He has been awarded the Prix Nadar (with Quentin Bajac) and a Royal Norwegian Order of Merit (Knight). Anne Chapman
Anne MacKaye Chapman (January 27, 1922 – June 12, 2010) was a Franco- American ethnologist who focused on the people of Mesoamerica writing several books, co-producing movies, and capturing sound recordings of rare languages from the Northern Triangle of Central America to Cape Horn in South America. Life and career Anne MacKaye Chapman was born in 1922 in Los Angeles, California. She left for Mexico in 1940, enrolling at the Escuela Nacional de Antropología e Historia (ENAH) in Mexico City. Sophie Calle
Sophie Calle (; born 9 October 1953) is a French writer, photographer, installation artist, and conceptual artist. Daughter of the contemporary art collector Robert Calle, Calle's work is distinguished by its use of arbitrary sets of constraints, and evokes the French literary movement known as Oulipo. Her work frequently depicts human vulnerability, and examines identity and intimacy. She is recognized for her detective-like tendency to follow strangers and investigate their private lives. Roger Caillois (; 3 March 1913 – 21 December 1978) was a French intellectual and prolific writer whose original work brought together literary criticism, sociology, poetry, ludology and philosophy by focusing on very diverse subjects such as games, surrealism, south-American literature, the mineral world, dreams and images, ethnology, the history of religions and the sacred. Frédéric Bruly Bouabré
Frédéric Bruly Bouabré, also known as Cheik Nadro (11 March 1923 – 28 January 2014), was an Ivorian artist. Life and career Bouabré was born in Zépréguhé, Ivory Coast, and was among the first Ivorians to be educated by the French colonial government. On 11 March 1948, he received a vision, which directly influenced much of his later works. Bouabré created many of his hundreds of small drawings while working as a clerk in various government offices. These drawings depicted many different subjects, mostly drawn from local folklore; some also described his own visions. All the drawings are part of a larger cycle, titled '' World Knowledge''. Dirk Braeckman (born 1958 in Eeklo, Belgium) is a Belgian photographer who lives and works in Ghent, Belgium. The artist studied photography and film at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Ghent from 1977 until 1981. Anna And Bernhard Blume
Anna Blume (née Helming; 21 April 1936 18 June 2020) and Bernhard Johannes Blume (8 September 19371 September 2011) were German art photographers. They created sequences of large black-and-white photos of staged scenes in which they appeared themselves, with objects taking on a "life" of their own. Their works have been shown internationally in exhibitions and museums, including New York's MoMA. They are regarded as "among the pioneers of staged photography".
