École Secondaire Étienne-Brûlé
École secondaire Étienne-Brûlé () is a French-language public high school located in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, named for a famous explorer. Part of the Conseil scolaire Viamonde, the school serves the French population of the Greater Toronto Area (GTA). It is featured in the NFB documentary ''Une école sans frontières'' (''A School Without Borders'') by Nadine Valcin. History In 1969, École secondaire Étienne-Brûlé was founded. It was part of the Conseil scolaire de district du Centre-Sud-Ouest during the end of the 2000s. Étienne-Brûlé is currently the only public secular French-language secondary school in the North York region, and the only Conseil Scolaire Viamonde school in Toronto offering the Advanced Placement program. Advanced Placement (AP) is a program in the United States and Canada created by the College Board. AP offers undergraduate university-level curricula and examinations to high school students. Christina Kessler (born May 28, 1988) has competed for the Canadian National women's ice hockey team. Her debut with Team Canada was at the 2010 Four Nations Cup where she was part of the gold medal-winning squadron. She played for the Burlington Barracudas in the Canadian Women's Hockey League before being claimed by the Brampton Thunder in the dispersal section of the 2012 CWHL Draft. Emilie Goldblum ( Livingston; born 4 January 1983) is a Canadian dancer, aerialist and contortionist, and retired Olympic rhythmic gymnast. Daniel P. McTeague, (born October 16, 1962) is a Canadian businessman and former politician. McTeague served for eighteen years as Member of Parliament for the Ontario riding of Pickering—Scarborough East.
