École Rose-des-Vents is a Francophone school located in Greenwood, Nova Scotia, Greenwood, Nova Scotia operated by the Conseil scolaire acadien provincial (CSAP). Origins of the building École Rose-des-Vents was originally built as an elementary school for children of CFB Greenwood, Canadian Forces Base 14 Wing Greenwood personnel and was named Russell C. Gordon Elementary School. It was designed by the Toronto firm of Craig and Madill and was completed in 1962. Completed two years after Dwight Ross Elementary School (DRES), both schools were situated in the CFB Greenwood PMQ neighbourhood Clements Park. Both schools, along with A.V.M. Morfee Elementary, which opened in 1949, and École francophone, which opened in 1976, exclusively served children of military personnel until 1988. Greenwood is a village located in the western part of Kings County, Nova Scotia, Kings County in Nova Scotia's Annapolis Valley. History Greenwood was a small hamlet south of the Dominion Atlantic Railway's Kingston, Nova Scotia, Kingston Station. Thibault Jacquot-Paratte is an Acadian writer and musician, born in Kentville, Nova Scotia, of Franco-Swiss parentage. He writes both in French and English. Biography Raised in the minority Francophone community of the Annapolis Valley, Nova Scotia, Thibault Jacquot-Paratte started performing songs and reading publicly as a teenager. Judy Streatch (born October 6, 1966) is a Canadian politician, who was a Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) for Chester-St. Margaret's in Nova Scotia from 2005 to 2009. A schoolteacher by career, Streatch was educated at Saint Mary's University, the Nova Scotia Teachers College, and the Université du Québec à Trois-Rivières. Chéticamp (; ) is an unincorporated town on the Cabot Trail on the west coast of Cape Breton Island in Nova Scotia, Canada. It is a local service centre. A majority of the population are Acadians. Isle Madame is an island off southeastern Cape Breton Island in Nova Scotia. It is part of the Municipality of the County of Richmond.
