Éamonn O'Donoghue (hurler)
Éamonn O'Donoghue (born 5 February 1951 in Blackrock, Cork, Ireland) is an Irish former sportsperson. He played hurling with his local club Blackrock and was a member of the Cork senior inter-county team from 1974 until 1983. Playing career Club O'Donoghue first came to prominence as a member of the hugely successful Blackrock minor team of the late sixties. In all he won three successive minor championship medals as Blackrock secured a remarkable four-in-a-row between 1966 and 1969. By 1973 O'Donoghue had become a key member of the Blackrock senior team and lined out in his first championship decider. A 2–12 to 2–10 defeat of Glen Rovers gave him his first championship medal. A subsequent two-point defeat of Newmarket-on-Fergus in the provincial decider gave O'Donoghue a first Munster medal. The subsequent All-Ireland final pitted Blackrock against Rathnure. Blackrock National Hurling Club is a Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA) club located on the southside of Cork (city), Cork City, Republic of Ireland, Ireland. The club was founded in 1883 and is primarily concerned with the game of hurling. No other Cork-based GAA club has won more Senior County Hurling titles or All-Ireland Club Championships. Ger Fennelly
Ger Fennelly (born 22 January 1954) is an Irish people, Irish retired hurling, hurler who played as a centre-forward and as a midfielder for the Kilkenny GAA, Kilkenny senior team. Born in Piltown, County Kilkenny, Fennelly first arrived on the inter-county scene at the age of seventeen when he first linked up with the Kilkenny minor team before later joining the under-21 side. He joined the senior panel during the 1974 All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship, 1974 championship. Fennelly subsequently became a regular member of the starting fifteen and won three All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship, All-Ireland medals, six Leinster Senior Hurling Championship, Leinster medals and three National Hurling League medals. Christy Heffernan
Christy Heffernan (born 26 December 1957) is an Irish retired hurler who played as a full-forward for the Kilkenny senior team. Born in Glenmore, County Kilkenny, Heffernan first arrived on the inter-county scene at the age of twenty-two when he first linked up with the Kilkenny senior team. He made his senior debut during the 1981 championship. Heffernan went on to play a key part for Kilkenny, and won four All-Ireland medals, seven Leinster medals and four National Hurling League medals. He was an All-Ireland runner-up on two occasions. As a member of the Leinster inter-provincial team on a number of occasions, Heffernan won one Railway Cup medal in 1989. At club level he is a one-time All-Ireland medallist with Glenmore. Jimmy Barry-Murphy
James Barry-Murphy (; born 22 August 1954) is an Irish hurling manager and former hurler and Gaelic footballer. He was the manager of the senior Cork county hurling team from 2011 to 2015, returning a decade after his first tenure as manager. Barry-Murphy is regarded as one of the best-known players in the history of Gaelic games. He established himself as a dual player with the St Finbarr's club. A dual four-time All-Ireland medallist with the St Finbarr's senior teams, Barry-Murphy also won a combined total of five Munster medals and ten championship medals.
