Platanus
''Platanus'' ( ) is a genus consisting of a small number of tree species native to the Northern Hemisphere. They are the sole living members of the family Platanaceae. All mature members of ''Platanus'' are tall, reaching in height. The type species of the genus is the Oriental plane ''Platanus orientalis''. AteÅŸ Çınar (; born 16 May 1986) is a Turkish yacht racer competing in the 470 class. The tall athlete at is a member of Galatasaray Sport Club], where he is coached by Edo Fantela. He studied at Dokuz Eylül University. His brother Deniz is also a national sailor. He became Turkish champion in the Laser 4.7 class at the Turkish Sailing Championships in 2002 and 2003, and won the 2002 Turkish Sailing Foundation Trophy in the same class. Deniz Çınar (; born 8 December 1984) is a Turkish yacht racer competing in the 470 class. The tall athlete at is a member of Galatasaray Sport Club, where he is coached by Edo Fantela. His brother Ateş is also a national sailor. He studied at Dokuz Eylül University. He began with sailing at the age of ten in Foça, and one year later he started to race. He became gold medalist in the Optimist class at the 1999 Balkan & Open Sailing Championship in Romania. In 2001 he won the Turkish Sailing Foundation Trophy in the Laser 4.7 class. He gained the silver medal at the Laser 4.7 World Championships held off Çeşme, Turkey. In 2007, he became Turkish champion in the Laser 4.7 class. İlker Çınar (c. 1968–1970) is a former intelligence agent of the Turkish Army, and a suspect and witness in the Ergenekon trials. He was a 'special sergeant' who went undercover with Christian missionaries in Turkey and worked as a priest in Tarsus. Nilüfer Çinar Çorlulu (born Nilüfer Çınar on November 4, 1962) is a Turkish Woman International Master (WIM) of chess. With nine Turkish Chess Championship, national champion titles, she is one of the most successful female chess players in Turkey, being only second after Gülümser Öney, who has eleven titles, and equaled in 2013 by Betül Cemre Yıldız.
