Çiğli Maintenance Facility
Çiğli is a municipality and district of İzmir Province, Turkey. Its area is 139 km2, and its population is 214,065 (2022). It covers the northwestern part of the agglomeration of İzmir, around the mouth of the river Gediz, across the Gulf of İzmir from the main city. The Gediz delta is an Important Bird Area but is under threat from urbanization. IAOIZ, the İzmir Atatürk Organized Industrial Zone, is a significant economic hub and there is a major air force base. History ''Çiğ'' means ''dew'' in Turkish, a reference to the delta marshes of the River Gediz which used to cover the entire area. Ä°zmir Wildlife Park
İzmir Wildlife Park () is a non-profit zoo in İzmir, Turkey. It was opened on 30 November 2008 following the closure of the İzmir Zoo. The park, which has nearly 1,800 animals from 132 species, was established on an area of 425,000 m in the district of Çiğli. It is a member of the European Association of Zoos and Aquaria. Animals brought from the closed İzmir Zoo and from abroad are exhibited in their natural environments. Around 900 thousand people visit the park annually. Protected areas or conservation areas are locations which receive protection because of their recognized natural or cultural values. Protected areas are those areas in which human presence or the exploitation of natural resources (e.g. firewood, non-timber forest products, water, ...) is limited. is an Arabic word variously translated as district, quarter, ward, or neighborhood in many parts of the Arab world, the Balkans, Western Asia, the Indian subcontinent, and nearby nations. The Gediz Delta is the river delta at the confluence of the Gediz River with the Gulf of İzmir, in İzmir Province in western Turkey. Menemen () is a municipality and district of İzmir Province, Turkey. Its area is 573 km2, and its population is 200,904 (2022). The district extends on a fertile plain formed by the alluvial soil carried by the Gediz River. Adjacent districts are, from east to west; Aliağa and Foça to the north and Bornova, Karşıyaka and Çiğli to the south.
