Çandarlı Ibrahim Pasha The Younger
Çandarlı Ibrahim Pasha (1429–1499), called the Younger, was an Ottoman statesman who served as Grand Vizier from 1498 to 1499.İsmail Hâmi Danişmend, Osmanlı Devlet Erkânı, Türkiye Yayınevi, İstanbul, 1971, pp. 537–538. (Turkish) He was the scion of the Çandarlı family, which provided a series of grand viziers during the first centuries of the Ottoman Empire. His father, Çandarlı Halil Pasha, had also served as Grand Vizier from 1443 until his execution in 1453. Ibrahim was appointed ''qadi'' (judge) of Adrianople and survived his father's disgrace, and was named '' qadi 'asker'' (judge of the army), a very prestigious post, in 1465, before assuming the duties of tutor (''lala'') to the future Sultan Bayezid II. He became second visier when Bayezid II ascended to the throne in 1481. When Hersekzade Ahmet Pasha was dismissed from his position, he was appointed as Grand Vizier in 1498. Çandarlı Ibrahim Pasha (; died August 15, 1429), sometimes called the Elder, was an Ottoman statesman who served as grand vizier of the Ottoman Empire under Murad II, from 1421 to 1429. He was the third member of the prominent Çandarlı family to become grand vizier, after his father Çandarlı Halil Pasha the Elder and his brother Çandarlı Ali Pasha. Selim I
Selim I (; ; 10 October 1470 – 22 September 1520), known as Selim the Grim or Selim the Resolute (), was the List of sultans of the Ottoman Empire, sultan of the Ottoman Empire from 1512 to 1520. Despite lasting only eight years, his reign is notable for the enormous expansion of the Empire, particularly his Ottoman–Mamluk War (1516–1517), conquest between 1516 and 1517 of the entire Mamluk Sultanate of Egypt, which included all of the Levant, Hejaz, Tihamah and Egypt itself. On the eve of his death in 1520, the Ottoman Empire spanned about , having grown by seventy percent during Selim's reign. Selim's conquest of the Middle Eastern heartlands of the Muslim world, and particularly his assumption of the role of guardian of the Hajj, pilgrimage routes to Mecca and Medina, established the Ottoman Empire as the pre-eminent Muslim state. Kazasker
A kazasker or kadıasker (, ''ḳāḍī'asker'', "military judge") was a chief judge in the Ottoman Empire, so named originally because his jurisdiction extended to the cases of soldiers, who were later tried only by their own officers. Two kazaskers were appointed, called ''Rumeli Kazaskeri'' and '' Anadolu Kazaskeri'', having their jurisdiction respectively over the European and the Asiatic part of the Empire. They were subordinated to the Grand Vizier, later Şeyhülislam, and had no jurisdiction over the city of Constantinople.
