Åsværet is a small group of islands lying on the Arctic Circle in Dønna Municipality in Nordland county, Norway. Dønna (island)
Dønna is the largest island in Dønna Municipality in Nordland county, Norway. The island lies off the west coast of the mainland of Helgeland, Norway. The islands of Løkta and Tomma lie northeast of the island, the islands of Vandve and Åsværet lie to the west, and the islands of Herøy Municipality (Nordland), Herøy and Alsta lie to the south. The island is the main island of the municipality where most of the municipal residents live. In 2017, there were about 1,235 residents on the island. The northern and central parts of the island are low and relatively flat, partly marshy which nice coastal beaches. The southern part of Dønna is mountainous with several steep and bare mountains. The Arctic Circle is one of the two polar circles, and the northernmost of the five major circle of latitude, circles of latitude as shown on maps of Earth at about 66° 34' N. Lovund is an island and village in Lurøy Municipality in Nordland county, Norway. Åsvær Lighthouse () is a coastal lighthouse in Dønna Municipality in Nordland county, Norway. It is located on the island of Åsvær, about north of the village of Vandve, about northwest of the island of Dønna (island), Dønna, and about south of the village of Lovund. The tall lighthouse was first built in 1876. The original lighthouse was replaced in 1917 (after being destroyed in a storm). Herring are various species of forage fish, belonging to the Order (biology), order Clupeiformes.
