Ã…rslev Municipality
Årslev municipality () is a former municipality (Danish, '' kommune'') in the island of Funen in central Denmark. It merged into Faaborg-Midtfyn municipality on 1 January 2007. The former municipality covered an area of , and had a total population of 9,365 (2005). It belonged to Funen County and its last mayor was Hans Jørgensen, a member of the Social Democrats (''Socialdemokraterne'') political party. The main town and the site of its municipal council was the town of Årslev. Neighboring municipalities were Ullerslev and Langeskov to the east, Odense to the north, Broby to the west, and Ringe and Ørbæk to the south. Årslev municipality ceased to exist on 1 January 2007 as a result of ''Kommunalreformen'' ("The Municipality Reform" of 2007) in which it merged with Broby, Faaborg, Ringe, and Ryslinge municipalities, forming a new Faaborg-Midtfyn municipality. Odense Municipality () is a Danish municipality ('' kommune'') in Southern Denmark on the island of Funen in central Denmark. The municipality covers an area of , and has a population of 210,803 (1. January 2025). It is the most populous municipality in the region of Southern Denmark. The main town and the site of its municipal council is the city of Odense. The Region of Southern Denmark (, ; , ; ) is an administrative region of Denmark established on Monday 1 January 2007 as part of the 2007 Danish Municipal Reform, which abolished the traditional counties ("amter") and set up five larger regions. At the same time, smaller municipalities were merged into larger units, cutting the number of municipalities from 270 ( 271 before 2006) before 1 January 2007 to 98. Until 1 January 2007 Ryslinge municipality was a municipality ( Danish, '' kommune'') in the former Funen County on the island of Funen in central Denmark. Until January 1, 2007 Ørbæk Municipality was a municipality (Danish language, Danish: ''List of municipalities of Denmark (1970–2006), kommune'') in the former Funen County, on the east coast of the island of Funen, in central Denmark. Langeskov Municipality
Until 1 January 2007 Langeskov municipality was a municipality ( Danish, '' kommune'') in Funen County near the northeast coast of the island of Funen in central Denmark. The municipality covered an area of 43 km2, and had a total population of 6,365 (2005). Its last mayor was Ejvind Høyer Nielsen, a member of the Conservative People's Party (''Det Konservative Folkeparti'') political party. The main town and the site of its municipal council was the town of Langeskov in Rønninge Parish. Other towns in the municipality were Birkende, Marslev, and Rønninge, which also lend their names to the parishes within the municipality.
