Ã…ram
Åram is a village in Vanylven Municipality in Møre og Romsdal county, Norway. The village is located on the mainland, about straight north of the municipal centre of Fiskåbygd. The village has a ferry quay with regular connections to the nearby islands of Kvamsøya, Møre og Romsdal, Kvamsøya, Voksa, and Gurskøya in the neighboring Sande Municipality (Møre og Romsdal), Sande Municipality. Åram Church is located in the village. Åram and all of the mainland for about in all directions was formerly a part of Sande Municipality (Møre og Romsdal), Sande Municipality from 1 January 1838 until 1 January 2002 when it was administratively transferred to Vanylven Municipality. Ã…ram Church
Åram Church () is a parish church of the Church of Norway in Vanylven Municipality in Møre og Romsdal county, Norway. It is located in the village of Åram in the northern part of the municipality. It is the church for the Åram parish which is part of the Søre Sunnmøre prosti (deanery) in the Diocese of Møre (since 2002; prior to that time it was part of the Sande Municipality (Møre og Romsdal), Sande parish). The white, wooden church was built in a long church design in 1927 using plans drawn up by the architect Sivert Storegjerde. The church seats about 300 people. History The Åram area was historically part of the Sande Church (Sunnmøre), Sande Church parish. In the 1910s, the parish decided to build the new Gursken Church on the island of Gurskøya and divide the parish into two. The new church was built in 1918. Voksa
Voksa is an island in Sande Municipality in Møre og Romsdal county, Norway. The island lies about east of the island of Kvamsøya, about south of the island of Sandsøya, about west of the larger island of Gurskøya, and about north of the mainland village of Åram in neighboring Vanylven Municipality. The island is fairly flat except for one high hill along the southern shore. There are a few residents of the island, scattered about several farms on the island. Since 1965, there has been a long road/bridge/causeway connection to the island of Sandsøya (to the north). The residents of Sandsøya must drive to Voksa to reach the only regular ferry connection to the islands. Kvamsøya is an island in Sande Municipality in Møre og Romsdal county, Norway. It is located east of the Stad peninsula in Stad Municipality and about west of the village of Larsnes on the island of Gurskøya. The island lies in the Vanylvsgapet, the entrance to the Vanylvsfjorden. The island has been inhabited for a very long time. Gurskøya is an island in Møre og Romsdal county, Norway. Settlements The island is shared by Sande Municipality and Herøy Municipality.
