Ålgård
Ålgård (historic: ''Aalgaard'') is the administrative centre of Gjesdal municipality in Rogaland county, Norway. The village is located along the European route E39 highway, about southeast of the Sandnes (town), city of Sandnes in the Jæren district of the county. The village includes the neighborhoods of Ålgård, Bærland, Fiskebekk, Opstad and Solås. The large lake Edlandsvatnet lies on the south side of the village, emptying into the river Figgjoelva which runs northwest to Sandnes. Ålgård is mostly known for the Kongeparken amusement park, an old wool mill, and a local football team (Ålgård F.K.) playing in the List of football clubs in Norway, Norwegian Second Division. The Old Ålgård Church (built in 1917) and the new Ålgård Church (built in 2015) are both located in the village. Ålgård Church
Ålgård Church () is a parish church of the Church of Norway in Gjesdal Municipality in Rogaland county, Norway. It is located in the village of Ålgård. It is the main church for the Ålgård parish which is part of the Jæren prosti (deanery) in the Diocese of Stavanger. The white, concrete church was built in a fan-shaped style in 2015 using designs by the architects René de Groot og Erik Thesen from the firm, Link Arkitektur. The church seats about 500 people. The church was built in 2015 to replace the Old Ålgård Church (located next door) which was then too small for the congregation. The church was consecrated on 15 March 2015 by the Bishop Erling Johan Pettersen. The church was built at a cost of . On the upper floor is the sanctuary, vestry, two larger meeting rooms, and a smaller room. There is room for 430 people in the sanctuary, but the large doors in the back can be opened up to the entry hall and adjoining rooms, giving the church a maximum capacity of ...

Old Ålgård Church
Old Ålgård Church () is a historic parish church of the Church of Norway in Gjesdal Municipality in Rogaland county, Norway. It is located in the village of Ålgård. It used to be the main church for the Ålgård parish which is part of the Jæren prosti (deanery) in the Diocese of Stavanger. The white, wooden church was built in a long church design and an Art Nouveau style in 1917 using designs by the architect Ole Stein. The church seats about 250 people. History Work began on the new church on 20 March 1916 when a groundbreaking ceremony was held. The church was consecrated on 11 May 1917 by the Bishop Bernt Støylen. The church cost about to build. There are several bullet holes in the exterior of the church that were caused by skirmishes during World War II when the Germans occupied Norway. ''Kongeparken'' (The King's Park) is an amusement park in the village of Ã…lgÃ¥rd, near Stavanger in Norway. ''Kongeparken'' is the biggest amusement park in the south-west of Norway, and the main tourist destination in the county of Rogaland. Figgjoelva
Figgjoelva or Figgjo is a river in Rogaland county, Norway. The long river begins at the lake Edlandsvatnet in the village of Ålgård in Gjesdal municipality. It then heads north into the municipality of Sandnes before heading west. For a while, the river forms the municipal border between Sandnes and Time and between Sandnes and Klepp. The last part of the river runs west through Klepp before emptying into the North Sea. The Feistein Lighthouse lies on a small island, just northwest of the mouth of the river. The main part of the river is , but if you include the tributaries, the river is about twice as long at . Figgjo
Figgjo is a borough of the Sandnes (town), city of Sandnes in the west part of the large municipality of Sandnes in Rogaland county, Norway. The borough is located in the southern part of the city. It has a population (2016) of 2,213. The borough is mostly rural, but the village of Figgjo lies on the southern edge of the municipality. About 90% of the population of the borough lives in the village of Figgjo. Although it is part of the city of Sandnes, Statistics Norway considers Figgjo to be a separate urban area (this urban area is not the same as the borough, just one part of it). Martin Nevland (born 16 June 2001) is a Norwegian biathlete. He is a seven-time youth and junior world champion. Career Martin Nevland was already successful in cross-country skiing in 2018, finishing second among over 100 participants at the national junior championships. He made his international debut in biathlon at the 2019 Youth Olympic Festival, where he missed Top-10 finishes. The following year, he participated in the 2020 Junior World Championships in Lenzerheide and immediately achieved success. He secured 4th place in the sprint and won the individual, pursuit, and relay races convincingly with Martin Uldal and Morten Tørblad Sameien. Edlandsvatnet is a lake in the municipality of Gjesdal in Rogaland county, Norway. The lake lies just south of the large village of Ålgård, immediately southwest of the lake Limavatnet. The European route E39 highway runs along the northern shore of the lake. The lake empties into the river Figgjoelva on the northwestern end of the lake. The lake has many brown trout in it.
