The Åland Centre () is an agrarian-centrist political party on the Åland Åland ( , ; ) is an Federacy, autonomous and Demilitarized zone, demilitarised region of Finland. The party was founded by Karl-Anders Bergman in 1976. The party has had four premiers of Åland including: Folke Woivalin (1979–1988), Ragnar Erlandsson (1991–1995), Roger Nordlund (1999–2007), and Veronica Thörnroos (2019–2023). The party is affiliated with the Alliance of Liberals and Democrats for Europe. Mats Löfström, the current MP of Åland in the Finnish parliament, represents Åland Centre. Legislative elections were held in Ã…land on 19 October 2003 to elect members of the Lagtinget. The 30 members were elected for a four-year term by proportional representation. Though the Ã…land Centre recorded its worst results to date in the elections, it regained its status as the largest party on Ã…land, beating out the Liberals for Ã…land by a mere 10 votes. Legislative elections were held in Ã…land on 17 October 1999 to elect members of the Lagtinget. The 30 members were elected for a four-year term by proportional representation. They were the first elections contested by the Ã…land Centre in which it did not emerge as the largest party, narrowly losing out to the Liberals for Ã…land. The Centre Party ( , C) is a liberal political party in Sweden, founded in 1913. The party focuses on the national economy, the environment, political decentralisation and social integration. Mats Löfström
Mats Löfström (born 27 October 1983 in Eckerö) is a Finnish politician representing Åland Centre. Löfström is the single member of parliament for the autonomous region of Åland in the Parliament of Finland. He was an Åland Centre party candidate to the Finnish Parliament on the Åland Coalition list at the 2015 Finnish parliamentary election. Löfström was elected, replacing Elisabeth Nauclér as the single representative of Åland in the Finnish Parliament. Löfström was re-elected in 2019 and 2023.
