Äkäslompolo () is a village in the municipality of Kolari in Finland's Lapland (Finland), Lapland region. It is situated next to a lake of the same name, north-east of the town of Kolari. Äkäslompolo had 587 inhabitants on December 31, 2022. In summer Äkäslompolo is popular among hikers, anglers, canoeists, and other outdoor enthusiasts. Ylläs
Ylläs, or Yllästunturi in Finnish, is a high fell in the municipality of Kolari in Finnish Lapland. There are two villages near Ylläs: Äkäslompolo on the north side and Ylläsjärvi in the south. They are connected by an 11 km road, around the side of the fell. Both villages derive much of their income from tourism. Ylläs is a popular cross country and downhill skiing centre. The area's marketing slogan is "Ylläs on ykkönen!" (Finnish for "Ylläs is number one!"). Ylläs is the second largest ski resort in Lapland, after Levi Levi ( ; ) was, according to the Book of Genesis, the third of the six sons of Jacob and Leah (Jacob's third son), and the founder of the Israelites, Israelite Tribe of Levi (the Levites, including the Kohanim) and the great-grandfather of Aaron .... Jounin Kauppa (Finnish for ''Jouni's Store'') is a supermarket and family business in the village of Äkäslompolo, Kolari in Finland, Finnish Lapland (Finland), Lapland. The supermarket operates under the K-Market chain and brand, part of the Kesko conglomerate. The store has a surface area of 2 000 square meters, making it the biggest store under the Finnish K-Market chain. History The store was originally founded in 1950 by Jouni Kaulanen, in the downstairs of his house, where it operated until the 1980s. He kept the shop for over four decades, after which his children and wife continued operations. Since 2008, the store is managed by Jouni Kaulanen's son, Sampo Kaulanen.
