ﾃ《brﾃｺ () is a part of the former U.S. Naval Air Station Keflavik not supervised by the Icelandic defence authorities. After U.S. forces evacuated in 2006, a part of the base not needed for current military defence needs, was re-invented as a community of entrepreneurs, students and business. ﾃ《brﾃｺ offers academic programs at Keilir, has the largest university campus in Iceland, one of the largest business incubators in Iceland, as well as many other projects such as Iceland窶冱 first international Data center. ﾃ《brﾃｺ is located within the municipality of Reykjanesbﾃｦr. History From the Second World War, the United States Navy and later, the North Atlantic Treaty Organization or NATO had facilities at the Keflavik International Airport. Keilir (educational Institution)
Keilir 窶 Atlantic Centre of Excellence () is a private, non-profit, international educational institution located in ﾃ《brﾃｺ next to Keflavik International Airport in the city of Reykjanesbﾃｦr in Iceland. The school was established in 2007. The school is owned by the University of Iceland and Icelandic companies. Reykjanesbﾃｦr () is a municipality on the Southern Peninsula (''Suﾃｰurnes'') in Iceland, though the name is also used by locals to refer to the suburban region of Keflavﾃｭk and Njarﾃｰvﾃｭk which have grown together over the years. The municipality is made up of the towns of Keflavﾃｭk and Njarﾃｰvﾃｭk and the village of Hafnir. The municipality was created in 1994 when the inhabitants of the three settlements voted to merge them into one. Naval Air Station Keflavik
Naval Air Station Keflavik (NASKEF) was a United States Navy air station at Keflavﾃｭk International Airport, Iceland, located on the Reykjanes peninsula on the south-west portion of the island. NASKEF was closed on 8 September 2006 and its facilities were taken over by the Icelandic Defence Agency as their primary base (from 2011 the agency was handed over to the Icelandic Coast Guard). Since decommissioning, the air station site was handed over to the Icelandic government, and has since been redeveloped as housing and commercial development under the Kadeco company. The base was built during World War II by the United States Army as part of its mission to maintain the defense of Iceland and secure northern Atlantic air routes.
