ﾃ］gel Luis Sﾃ｡nchez (born September 20, 1983) is a Puerto Rican coach in Minor League Baseball, and a former professional baseball shortstop who played in Major League Baseball for the Kansas City Royals, Boston Red Sox, Houston Astros and Chicago White Sox. Playing career At the age of 15, Sﾃ｡nchez was drafted by the Florida Marlins in the 12th round (356th overall) of the 1999 Major League Baseball Draft. He did not sign with the Marlins and was later taken by the Kansas City Royals in the 11th round (325th overall) of the 2001 Major League Baseball Draft. The Gulf Coast League (GCL) Royals were a minor league baseball franchise in the Rookie-level Gulf Coast League from 1971窶1978, 1982窶1983 and 1985窶2002. A base on balls (BB), better known as a walk, occurs in baseball when a batter receives four pitches during a plate appearance that the umpire calls '' balls'', and is in turn awarded first base without the possibility of being called out. In baseball, an at bat (AB) or time at bat is a batter's turn batting against a pitcher. An at bat is different from a plate appearance.
