Ángel Luis Rodríguez Díaz (born 26 April 1987), known simply as Ángel, is a Spanish professional footballer who plays as a forward for Tenerife. Club career Tenerife Born in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Ángel emerged through the youth ranks of local CD Tenerife, scoring seven Segunda División goals in his first full professional season. He split 2007–08 on loan to Segunda División B teams Real Madrid Castilla and CA Osasuna B. Ángel returned to the Canary Islands for 2008–09, being an important attacking element as the club returned to La Liga after a seven-year absence. He made his debut in the competition on 29 August 2009, in a 1–0 away loss against Real Zaragoza (ten minutes played). The Estadio Martínez Valero is a stadium located in the Spanish city of Elche in the province of Alacant, province of Alicante, Valencian Community. In association football, a substitute is a player who is brought on to the pitch during a match in exchange for an existing player. Substitutions are generally made to replace a player who has become tired or injured, or who is performing poorly, or for tactical reasons (such as bringing a striker on in place of a defender). A player who has been substituted during a match takes no further part in the game, in games played under the standard International Football Association Board Laws of the Game. Substitutions were officially added to the Laws of the Game in 1958. Prior to this most games were played with no changes permitted at all, with occasional exceptions in cases of extreme injury or players not arriving to matches on time. The 2008–09 Segunda División season (known from that season as Liga Adelante for sponsorship reasons) was the 78th since its establishment. The first matches of the season were played on 30 August 2008, and the season ended on 21 June 2009. Real Zaragoza, Real Murcia and Levante were the teams relegated from La Liga the previous season. Alicante, Girona, Huesca and Rayo Vallecano were the teams promoted from Segunda División B the previous season.
