Ángel Labruna
Ángel Amadeo Labruna (28 September 1918 – 19 September 1983) was an Argentine footballer and coach who played as a forward. With 323 goals scored in official matches, which include 294 league goals, Labruna is the 2nd all-time top scorer of Primera División after Paraguayan Arsenio Erico. Labruna was also part of the celebrated River Plate offense, nicknamed '' La Máquina'' (''The Machine''), and he was considered one of the best South-American footballers of his generation. Carlos Peucelle
Carlos Desiderio Peucelle (13 September 1908 – 1 April 1990) was an Argentine football player who played as an inside forward or as a right winger and is considered one of Argentina's finest wingers in their history. He is also known for being the catalyst for starting "La Máquina" with River Plate who went on to dominate football in South America in the 1940s. Playing career Peucelle played first team football for San Telmo and Sportivo Buenos Aires before joining Argentine giants River Plate for a fee of 10,000 pesos. Félix Loustau
Félix Loustau () (25 December 1922 – 5 January 2003) was an Argentine footballer who was a key player on the River Plate squad known as La Máquina. La Maquina is considered to be one of the greatest teams ever assembled in the history of South American football. They dominated Argentine football during the first half of the 1940s, winning eight national titles during his time at the club. The five forwards on the team were Juan Carlos Muñoz, José Manuel Moreno, Adolfo Pedernera, Ángel Labruna and Loustau. Adolfo Pedernera
Adolfo Alfredo Pedernera (15 November 1918 – 12 May 1995) was an Argentine football player and coach. Nicknamed "El Maestro" ("The Teacher"), he was widely considered to be one of the best world football players in the 1940s and one of the greatest Argentine players of all time. Pedernera was the natural conductor of both the famous River Plate team known as La Máquina ("The Machine"), with whom he won several Argentine and South American titles, and the Millonarios team called Ballet Azul ("Blue Ballet") that won the Small Club World Cup in 1953 among many others Colombian titles. Juan Carlos Muñoz (4 March 1919 – 22 November 2009) was a footballer from Argentina who played as a right winger for River Plate, from 1939 to 1950, playing 184 games and scoring 39 goals. He started playing professionally for Sportivo Dock Sud in 1938. and he was sold in June 1939 to River Plate. He was part of the team known as La Máquina ("the machine") which dominated Argentine football in the 1940s, and was also a member of the Argentina national team that won three South American Championships during the same decade.
