ﾃ］gel Gallardo (born 29 July 1943) is a Spanish professional golfer. Gallardo was a member of the European Tour from its first official season in 1972 until 1982. He finished in the top one hundred of the European Tour Order of Merit in each of those eleven seasons, with a best ranking of tenth in 1977. His only official European Tour win was the 1977 Italian Open however he did win the 1967 Portuguese Open and the 1970 Spanish Open, events that would soon be enfolded into the European Tour schedule. He also won the 1971 Mexican Open. He was the second non-British golfer to be elected as Captain of the PGA of Great Britain and Ireland in 1982. Since leaving the tour, Gallardo has worked as a coach and as a golf course architect, with work that has included co-designing the PGA Golf de Catalunya, venue for the Open de Espaﾃｱa in 2009. Ryder Cup
The Ryder Cup is a biennial men's golf competition between teams from Europe and the United States, with hosting duties alternating between venues in Europe and the United States for each edition. The cup is named after the English businessman Samuel Ryder who donated the trophy and it is jointly administered by the PGA of America and Ryder Cup Europe, the latter a joint venture of the PGA European Tour (60%), the PGA of Great Britain and Ireland (20%), and the PGAs of Europe (20%). Initially contested between Great Britain and the United States, the first official Ryder Cup took place in the United States in 1927 at Worcester Country Club in Worcester, Massachusetts. Peter Butler (golfer)
Peter Joseph Butler (25 March 1932 窶 11 October 2022) was an English professional golfer. He was one of the leading British golfers of the 1960s and early 1970s. He won a number of important tournaments including the 1963 PGA Close Championship and the 1968 Open de France, French Open. He played in four Ryder Cup matches between 1965 and 1973 and three times in the World Cup (men's golf), World Cup. He played in the Open Championship 23 times, with two top-10 finishes, and seven successive times in the Masters Tournament, Masters from 1964 to 1970. Professional career Butler turned professional as a teenager in 1947, becoming an assistant to Bill Button at Harborne Golf Club, Birmingham. Maurice Bembridge
Maurice Bembridge (21 February 1945 窶 2 March 2024) was an English professional golfer. Early in his career he had some success on the British PGA, winning the 1969 News of the World Match Play and the 1971 Dunlop Masters. He would go on to win six times on the British PGA's successor circuit, the European Tour. He also had some success overseas, winning the New Zealand Golf Circuit's Caltex Tournament in 1970 and the Kenya Open three times.
