Angel "Chayanne" Martﾃｭnez Santiago (born February 17, 1964) is a Puerto Rican politician and senator. He has been a member of the Senate of Puerto Rico since 2008. Early years and studies Angel Martﾃｭnez Santiago was born on February 17, 1964, in Ciales, Puerto Rico. His parents are Marﾃｭa Santiago and Miguel Angel Martﾃｭnez. Martﾃｭnez approved 60 credits en route to a pre-medical degree in 1982. He graduated from Puerto Rico Junior College in 1986, certified as a radiologic technologist. In 2002, he obtained a bachelor's degree in business administration from the American University of Puerto Rico, graduating magna cum laude. Rossana Lﾃｳpez Leﾃｳn (born March 6, 1969) is a Puerto Rican politician and public servant from the Popular Democratic Party (PPD). Lﾃｳpez was elected to the Senate of Puerto Rico in 2012. Before that, she served as Director of the Office of Affairs of the Elderly. Early years and studies Rossana Lﾃｳpez Leﾃｳn was born in San Juan on March 6, 1969, to Norberto Lﾃｳpez and Carmen Leﾃｳn. General elections were held in Puerto Rico on Tuesday, November 4, 2008, to elect the officials of the government that would serve for the next four years, most notably the Governor of Puerto Rico. The gubernatorial election was won by incumbent Resident Commissioner Luis Fortuﾃｱo of the New Progressive Party (PNP), who defeated incumbent governor Anﾃｭbal Acevedo Vilﾃ｡ of the Popular Democratic Party (PPD) by 53% to 41%. Most other positions were won by PNP candidates, with Pedro Pierluisi winning the election for Resident Commissioner, and the party winning a majority of seats in the Senate and the House of Representatives.
