Ángel Alfredo Villatoro
Ángel Alfredo Villatoro Rivera (born 1965 in El Progreso, Yoro (department), Yoro — d. 15 May 2012 in Tegucigalpa) was a Honduran people, Honduran journalist and radio personality, who was kidnapped and killed in 2012 and is regarded as a "''journalist martyr''". He was one of the seven journalists killed in Honduras in 2012. Early career Villatoro started as radio operator in a local station in La Lima. In 1985 the radio personality Marco Antonio Pinto hired Villatoro to host a sports program in Radio Éxitos in San Pedro Sula. In 1986 Villatoro moved to Tegucigalpa to study journalism at Universidad Nacional Autónoma de Honduras. Later he became the host of a sports program in Radio Universal. His outstanding talent helped him to become a news reporter in Radio America (Honduras), Radio América and press reporter in ''La Tribuna (Honduras), La Tribuna'' and ''El Heraldo (Tegucigalpa), El Heraldo''. El Progreso
El Progreso () is a city, with a population of 120,600 (2023 calculation), and a municipality located in the Honduran Departments of Honduras, department of Yoro (department), Yoro. Ramón Villeda Morales International Airport of San Pedro Sula is located west of the city. To the east of the city is the mountain range of Mico Quemado (Burned Monkey).
