Álvaro Martínez Beltrán (born 30 March 1974), known simply as Álvaro, is a Spanish former Association football, footballer who played as a Goalkeeper (association football), goalkeeper. Club career Born in Vitoria-Gasteiz, Álava, Álvaro began his career with local CD Aurrerá de Vitoria, promoting to the Tercera División in his first season as a senior. In the summer of 1993 he signed with Basque Country (autonomous community), Basque giants Athletic Bilbao, playing his only two years at the professional level with Bilbao Athletic, the reserve side in Segunda División, being second choice. Álvaro returned to his first club in 1995, going on to represent in the following 14 years Burgos CF, SD Lemona, UB Conquense, Benidorm CF, CD San Isidro, Cultural y Deportiva Leonesa and CP Villarrobledo, in both the Segunda División B and the fourth tier. Álvaro Martínez Aguinaga (born 9 February 1979) is a Spanish retired footballer who played as a right-back. Club career Martínez was born in Estella-Lizarra, Navarre. Having spent the vast majority of his career in the lower leagues, he started with Athletic Bilbao but only appeared for its farm team and reserves, CD Basconia and Bilbao Athletic respectively. From 2001 onwards, Martínez represented Alicante CF, CD Recreación de La Rioja, CD River Ega, CF Vilanova, UE Figueres, Sestao River Club, SD Eibar (his first and only Segunda División experience, playing 17 matches in 2008–09's relegation) and Barakaldo CF. Personal life Martínez's younger brother, Javier, was also a footballer. A midfielder, he played with great success for Athletic Bilbao and FC Bayern Munich, winning the 2010 FIFA World Cup and UEFA Euro 2012 with Spain. Álvaro Martínez (born 13 November 1986) is an Argentine politician who is a member of the Chamber of Deputies of Argentina elected in Mendoza Province. He is the president of the Mendoza chapter of the Republican Proposal Republican Proposal (), usually referred to by its abbreviation PRO, is a political party in Argentina. PRO was formed as an electoral alliance in 2005, but was transformed into a national party in 2010. It is the major component of the Juntos ... (PRO) party.
