Álvaro Calvo Masa (born 27 March 1983) is a Spanish basketball player who plays for Costa do Sol of the Liga Moçambicana de Basquetebol (LMB). Standing at , he plays as power forward. He is a two-time Most Valuable Player of the Mozambican League. Career In his career, he has spent time in Europe, South America and Africa. Since 2018, Masa plays for Ferroviário de Maputo in Mozambique. He is a two-time Mozambican League champion and most valuable player. He was the leading scorer for his team in the 2021 BAL season with 19.8 points, helping Ferroviário reach the quarterfinals. On 15 February 2023, Calvo Masa signed for the Kigali Titans of the Rwanda Basketball League (RBL). In September 2024, he joined Costa do Sol, the reigning champions of Mozambique. New Star Basketball Club is a Burundian basketball club. The team plays in the National League of Burundi, and has won the championship in 2021. 2022 BAL Season
The 2022 BAL season, also known as BAL Season 2, was the second season of the Basketball Africa League (BAL). The season began on 2 March 2022 and ended with the Finals on 28 May 2022. The group phase was played in the Dakar Arena in Dakar and the Hassan Moustafa Sports Hall in Cairo. The playoffs and finals were played in the BK Arena in Kigali for a second year in a row. Tunisian club US Monastir won the finals to win its first-ever BAL title, after defeating Angolan club Petro de Luanda in the 2022 BAL Finals. As winners, Monastir qualified for the 2023 FIBA Intercontinental Cup. Format On December 9, 2021, the BAL announced a new format for the season, with an expansion of the number of total games to 38. The Rwanda Basketball League (RBL) (formerly the National Basketball League Rwanda) is the top professional basketball league in Rwanda. Its season usually runs from November to September. 2021 BAL Season
The 2021 BAL season, also known as BAL Season 1, was the inaugural season of the Basketball Africa League (BAL). Established as a joint effort between the National Basketball Association (NBA) and FIBA, the BAL is the highest tier continental league of Africa, replacing the FIBA Africa Basketball League. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the BAL held its inaugural season one year later as planned, with the season beginning in 2021. Clube de Desportos da Costa do Sol, commonly known as CD Costa do Sol, is a Mozambican basketball team from Maputo. It is the basketball section of the multi-sports club, founded in 1955. Kigali Titans
The Kigali Titans are a Rwandan professional basketball team based in Kigali. The team plays in the Rwanda Basketball League Division 2 (RBL D2), the second-highest national level. History The organisation was founded in 2021 by pharmaceutical businessman Eugene Rubonera Junior after the FERWABA announced to create a national second division for men's teams.
