Áine Brady
Áine Brady (; born 8 September 1954) is an Irish former Fianna Fáil politician who served as a Minister of State from 2009 to 2011. She was a Teachta Dála (TD) for the Kildare North constituency from 2007 to 2011. She was Fianna Fáil's youth organiser in the early 1980s, and a member of the party's national executive. Her first electoral outing was at the 1981 election to the 15th Seanad, when she stood unsuccessfully on the Cultural and Educational Panel. She was a teacher at Scoil na Mainistreach in Celbridge for 22 years. She was an unsuccessful candidate for Dáil Éireann at the Kildare North by-election in 2005, but won a seat at the 2007 general election. Brady is the sister of former Fianna Fáil chief whip Tom Kitt and of former Minister of State Michael P. Kitt, and the daughter of former TD Michael F. Kitt. Minister Of State (Ireland)
A Minister of State () in Republic of Ireland, Ireland (also called a junior minister) is of non-cabinet rank attached to one or more Department of State (Ireland), Departments of State of the Government of Ireland and assists the Minister of the Government responsible for that department. The government may appoint up to 23 ministers of state. The 15th Seanad was in office from 1981 to 1982. An election to Seanad Éireann, the senate of the Oireachtas (Irish parliament), followed the 1981 general election to the 22nd Dáil. The senators served until the close of poll for the 16th Seanad. Kathleen Lynch (politician)
Kathleen Lynch (born 7 June 1953) is an Irish former Labour Party (Ireland), Labour Party politician who served as Minister of State (Ireland), Minister of State from 2011 to 2016. She served as a Teachta Dála (TD) for the Cork North-Central (Dáil constituency), Cork North-Central constituency from 1994 to 1997 and 2002 to 2016. Trevor Sargent (born 26 July 1960) is a minister of the Church of Ireland and a former Irish Green Party politician who served as a Minister of State from 2007 to 2010 and Leader of the Green Party from 2001 to 2007. John Moloney (Irish Politician)
John Anthony Moloney (born 12 June 1953) is an Irish former Fianna Fáil politician. He was a Teachta Dála (TD) for the Laois–Offaly constituency from 1997 to 2011. He also served as a Minister of State from 2008 to 2011. An air traffic controller, undertaker and publican before entering politics, he is a former member of Laois County Council and Mountmellick Town Council. Máire Hoctor (born 20 January 1963) is an Irish former Fianna Fáil politician. She was a Teachta Dála (TD) for the Tipperary North (Dáil constituency), Tipperary North constituency from 2002 to 2011. Barry Andrews (born 16 May 1967) is an Irish politician who serves as a Member of the European Parliament (MEP) for the Dublin constituency. He is a member of Fianna Fáil, part of Renew Europe. The Oireachtas Golf Society scandal, also known informally as "Golfgate", was a political scandal in Ireland involving past and present members of that country's parliament, the Oireachtas, who attended a gathering of the Oireachtas Golf Society in Clifden, County Galway, on 19 August 2020. The gathering took place during public health guidelines that had been issued in response to the COVID-19 pandemic in Ireland. A total of 81 guests attended a dinner organised by the society, including a number of high-profile Oireachtas members; the European Commissioner for Trade, Phil Hogan; and a Supreme Court judge, Séamus Woulfe. 2005 Kildare North By-election
A by-election was held in the Dáil Éireann Kildare North (Dáil constituency), Kildare North constituency in Republic of Ireland, Ireland on Friday, 11 March 2005. It followed the resignation of Fianna Fáil Teachta Dála (TD) Charlie McCreevy on 31 October 2004 to take up his new position as Ireland's European Commissioner. On 15 February 2005 the campaign began in earnest when it was announced that polling would take place on 11 March 2005.
