Águas Vermelhas is a city in the northeast of the Brazilian state of Minas Gerais. In 2020 its population was estimated to be 13,599 in a total area of 1,258 km². The city belongs to the mesoregion of Jequitinhonha and to the microregion of Salinas, Minas Gerais, Salinas. The elevation of the municipal seat is 758 meters. It became a municipality in 1962. This municipality is located on the Rio Mosquito and is 13 km. west of the important BR-116 highway. It forms a boundary with the state of Minas Gerais. Municipal boundaries are with: Ninheira, Divisa Alegre, Curral de Dentro, Berizal, São João do Paraíso, and Medina, Minas Gerais, Medina. The main economic activities are cattle raising and farming. Poços De Caldas
Poços de Caldas is a Municipalities of Brazil, municipality in the south of Minas Gerais state, Brazil, in the microregion of the same name. Its estimated population in 2020 was 168,641 inhabitants. The city is known for its hot springs. History Poços was founded in 1872. The region had been inhabited by the Cataguases Indians, who were expelled from their lands by the ''Bandeirantes, Bandeiras Unidas Paulistas'' during their quest for gold. Medina, Minas Gerais
Medina is a Brazilian municipality located in the northeast of the state of Minas Gerais in the Jequitinhonha River valley. According to the 2022 census, the population of the municipality was 20,156 in a total area of 1,435 km2. The city belongs to the mesoregion of Jequitinhonha and the microregion of Pedra Azul. History The municipality originated from a village formed by a group of indigenous and slaves led by the Spaniard Leandro de Medina, who arrived in the region in May 1824.
