Ágnes Farkas
Ágnes Farkas (born 21 April 1973) is a former Hungarian handball player. She won a gold medal at the 2000 European Women's Handball Championship, 2000 European Championship, and earned a silver medal at the 2000 Summer Olympics and at the 1995 World Women's Handball Championship, 1995 and 2003 World Women's Handball Championship, 2003 World Championships. Career Club Farkas started to play handball for Építők SC, where she stayed until 1992, when she moved to Budapesti Spartacus. A year later. she joined Ferencvárosi TC, where she spent six seasons. There, she has achieved her greatest club successes, including league and cup titles, EHF Champions League and EHF Cup silver medals. Thanks to her outstanding performances over the years, she is regarded as a club icon by Ferencváros fans. 2000 European Women's Handball Championship
The 2000 EHF European Women's Handball Championship was held in Romania from 8 to 17 December. It was won by Hungary by beating Ukraine 32–30 after extra time in the final match. EHF Women's Cup Winners' Cup
The Women's EHF Cup Winners' Cup was the official competition for women's handball clubs of Europe that won their national cup, and took place every year from 1976 to 2016 (until 1993 organized by IHF instead of EHF). EHF Champions League
The EHF Champions League is the most important club handball competition for men's teams in Europe and involves the leading teams from the top European nations. The competition is organised every year by EHF. The official name for the men's competition is the EHF Champions League Men. The EHF coefficient rank decides which teams have access and in which stage they enter. Eligibility and qualifying Each year, the EHF publishes a ranking list of its member federations. The first 9 nations are automatically permitted to participate in the tournament with their national champion. The national federation ranked first place in the EHF European League, currently Germany, is awarded a second qualification berth for the domestic runner-up. The remaining six positions are designated through wildcards, with each national federation without two teams already qualified able to submit a single applicant. Danish Women's Handball League
The Kvindeligaen () is the top professional league for Danish women's handball clubs. It is administered by the Danish Handball Federation, and the winners are recognized as Danish champions. The league was previously called Bambusa Kvindeligaen for sponsorship reasons. It has previously been known as HTH GO Ligaen, Primo Tours Ligaen, Boxer Dameligaen, TOMS Ligaen and GuldBageren Ligaen. The current title holder is Team Esbjerg (2024). The European Handball Federation (EHF) ranks the Danish league 4th in the coefficients of leagues based on performances in European competitions over the past seasons.
