¡A las armas! (English: ''Call to Arms!'') is a 1974 comic written and drawn by Francisco Ibañez for the ''Mortadelo y Filemón'' (''Mort & Phil'') comic series. Publication history The comic strip was first published in the '' Mortadelo'' magazine, issues #189 (July 8, 1974) to #199 (September 16, 1974). Plot Mortadelo and Filemon's everyday duty of arresting criminals is rendered virtually impossible because the T.I.A.'s arsenal is (mildly speaking) archaic. Therefore, El Super decides to buy the latest weapon designs for his organisation and tasks Mortadelo and Filemon with field-testing them. ''Mort & Phil'' () is a Spanish comic series, published in more than two dozen languages. It appeared for the first time in 1958 in the children's comic-book magazine drawn by Francisco Ibáñez. Francisco Ibáñez Talavera (15 March 1936 – 15 July 2023) was a Spanish comic book artist and writer. Ibáñez was one of the most prolific and well-known authors in Spain, with popular comics such as '' Mort & Phil'', '' Rompetechos'', '' 13, Rue del Percebe'', '' El botones Sacarino'', '' Pepe Gotera y Otilio,'' and '' Chicha, Tato y Clodoveo''. ''Mort'' is a fantasy novel by British writer Terry Pratchett.
